Story
Grace is the sweetest cat. We have had her since she was a kitten, but unfortunately my mother has cat allergies and we are fixing to move in an apartment with my mom so that I can help take care of her so we cant keep grace. She is mostly my husband's cat, but she is very affectionate to both of us. She loves to cuddle and snuggle, and she loves calming treats and or regular treats both. She seems to have food allergies, so the only food her stomach will tolerate is Iams for hairball control or the purina cat. She can rarely eat certain can food do to her digestive system, but her favorite is Mariner catch friskies. We would love for her to have a great home for someone to love her as much as we have. She is litter broken and front declawed. Ideally she needs a home she can roam free and have hiding places because she likes to hide.

Story
Grace is about 12 years old, she is laid-back, mostly quiet, except when she wants food or attention. She is still playful. She is shy at first but once she adjusts and gets used to you and her new surroundings, she is very friendly, loves being petted and loves treats. She is litter box trained.

Story
Cali is an adorable Calico cat that is in need of a new home! We found her outside a few months ago with a hurt paw, and took her in to nurse her back to health. She loves to play, cuddle, and spend time outside. She has a clean bill of health from our vet, has been vaccinated and she will be spayed before being adopted out. She is about 20 weeks old, and is curious about everything. She loves spending time with people, and has been friendly around kids and other animals. We have a different cat who does not get along with others, so we are looking for a great home for her! Ideally, she would love a place where she can spend some time outside, and where she will get lots of attention and play time. She loves playing with kids! None of this is a requirement as long as she is loved and cared for well.

Story
Callie is a delightful calico that showed up at her home summer of 2024. She was thin but playful. We found she was house trained but preferred outdoors. She handled well indoors and was litter trained. She interacted well with our grandchildren ages 5 to 12. She loves a good soft bed or lap and loves to be petted, though not so much picked up and held. I've never seen her around dogs, but know that she is territorial around other cats. She's very playful, and even though she's put on some weight, which is good, she is fast. She loves climbing and prefers to view the world at great heights, though I've never seen her climb a tree! She has received all her shots and receives monthly Revolution. She's up-to-date on her rabies. She has been neutered.

Story
Kitty is a cuddly female calico, about 15 years old. She is a very healthy senior cat, but is very sensitive to allergies. She is very playful, needs a lot of attention, enjoys being held and petted. Kitty was declawed by her previous owner. She does not get along well with other cats and dogs, and would do best in a home where she is the only pet.

Story
Meet Evangeline Evangeline is a gorgeous kitty about 1 1/2 years old. She came to us as a tiny kitten and has struggled to be brave in our kitten room. Just recently she is coming out of her shell and has made it known to us that she's ready to find her forever home! If you are willing to take a chance on a quiet girl, Evangeline will love you forever! She would do best with one of her buddies from our kitten room or a sweet kitty already in the home. If you can offer a safe, indoor environment for Evangeline, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. On our home page, please click "How To Adopt." Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
