Story
Our pets are located and physically fostered in Mt.Airy, NC until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to your location or one of the north eastern locations. We have a cost effective transporter that delivers every other week. This sweet girl came to us after being dumped at a shelter in NC who euthanizes cats due to lack of space. She is extremely sweet and loving. She is good with other cats and she is used to dogs. She will go to her new home current on vetting, spayed and microchipped. The adopter will get all his vet records with adoption. We require a pre screen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
Star is a beautiful 2 year old male. He is a bit reserved, but very gentle. He seems happy being around other felines, but does not necessarily need that. Star enjoys playtime and especially his toy mice, and will toss them out for us to return them, like a slow game of toss! Despite initial reservation, he really loves head and neck rubs, and will roll over to invite belly rubs. He is very affectionate once he feels comfortable. He is also an adventurer. We are pre-approving applicants. To schedule an appointment, first fill out our adoption application ( https://cb8f5fb7-0a87-40fa-8ea5-50c4da40acd3.filesusr.com/ugd/c8cb9f_8cd13866ecd54a42a2b424d2b2f8dc10.pdf ). This will ask you questions about which animal you’re interested in, your family, other furry members in the household, whether you own or rent your home and who your Veterinarian is. These allow us to make the best match possible. We touch base with your landlord due to the unfortunate number of landlords who do not allow pets in Franklin County. Our goal with checking in with your Veterinarian is to ensure that the animals of FCAR receive the medical care they deserve. Once we have a positive reference from your landlord (if you rent) and Veterinarian, we will contact you to schedule an appointment with us! If you don't have any pets we understand you would not have a vet reference and we ask for applicants to substitute a personal reference. Please keep in mind, appointments are first come, first serve, based on when your application is approved. Please be patient with your Veterinarian and landlord, as their staff and businesses have been affected by COVID-19 as well. We are incredibly thankful that there has been no shortage in interest! This being said, our staff is limited and we are doing our absolute best to approve applications in a timely manner. This process can take up to a few weeks, but most are approved before then.
