Okie is 7 and 1/2 years old. She is very affectionate, smart and loving. She loves being in a quiet and predictable home. She loves belly rubs and kneading. Okie is a great cat and we have had her for four years, but we have two small children and she hasn’t adapted as well as we hoped she would. She will love you once she gets to know you.

All cats are special, but then there’s Tom Pitty. Tom is the ultimate companion - a true cuddle bug that loves to lounge around with a touch of sass to complete the total cat package. His ideal day? Pretty laid back. Tom is an “old soul” with an easygoing personality, perfectly content to lounge around, keep you company during Netflix marathons, or assist with your daily routine—especially when it comes to reminding you to turn on the faucet for his preferred drinking experience. He loves to supervise the household chores, and will follow you from room to room to ensure they are up to his standard. Don’t you even think about tossing those cardboard boxes before Tom tests their comfort and durability! Tom is a mature guy at 7 years old, but he still gets his little spurts of playfulness! He loves a good mouse toy to kick around the floor, or even a fun piece of string he found on the ground. He is a total birder and even gets to watch the household geckos move around their enclosure sometimes. He finds joy in the little pleasures of life, and we could all learn a little something from that! A heads-up, though: Tom is a huge foodie! He loves to sample anything you’re eating (don’t leave your plate unattended—he’ll find a way to sneak a bite). If you enjoy sharing snacks with your cat, Tom is definitely the one for you. Whether it’s a little bite of chicken or a sliver of cheese, he’s not shy about showing interest in every meal! He is religiously on time for breakfast and dinner to be served. Currently, Tom is fostered with 2 dogs and 3 other cats. He coexists well with everyone in the household, but if he had the option, he would like to be the center of someone’s world. He would do well with another cat or dog that would leave him be the majority of the time. Tom is FIV+, which simply means his immune system is a little lower than the average kitty’s. He doesn’t require any extra care beyond routine vet checkups—just a loving home where he can live his best life. Many of you know and love him—over the years, he has helped hundreds of dogs find their forever homes. Since 2022, Tom has been more than just our headquarters’ resident cat—he has been a key member of our Behavior Team, a staff supervisor, and a daily reminder of why we do what we do. Tom has worked tirelessly as our official Cat-Friendliness Tester, assessing countless pups for their ability to live with feline companions. With a little sass, a gentle spirit, and undeniable charm, he has played a vital role in ensuring so many successful adoptions. The adoption fee is $450 and includes all vetting: FVRCP vaccines (minimum of 2 but could be more depending on age and time in the program), FeLV vaccines, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, combo tested, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a health certificate deeming the kitty healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship!
