Story
I got Athena several years ago from a shelter. Her birthday is sometime around April of 2020. For the most part she is well behaved and can be left at home alone for extended periods of time. She isn’t bothered by vacuum cleaners or thunder storms but knocking on the door or honking of car horns makes her howl. She doesn’t like to cuddle but she does enjoy jumping, playing, and flipping. Athena is high energy and will require a yard. She will dig so keep your flowerbeds safe and enclose her in a fenced area. She has an ongoing infection that is too costly for me to afford. She currently requires a special diet, constant bathing, and clean bedding. She gets along well with our other cat and dog but she doesn’t respond well to children. The adopter would receive her bed, bowls, and blankets.

Story
If you’re looking for a young, fun loving energetic new family member, Diane may be just what you need in your life. Diane’s estimated date of birth is February 10, 2024. The shelter listed Diane as a lab, but we think she has basenji and boxer traits. Whatever she is, she is C U T E. Diane has a curious personality and loves exploring the world around her. She likes playing in water from the hose playing in her puppy pool. She also enjoys racing or wrestling with the other dogs in her foster home.Diane is treat motivated and quickly learned sit, paw and lay down. She also learned how to lift the lid of the cookie display at the local pet store and help herself. She is well supervised in the store now to avoid a shoplifting charge. We don’t know what happened early in Diane’s life. What we do know is that our local shelter put out a plea for two pups with broken bones who needed crate rest. Active Paws Rescue quickly stepped up for both. We named them Jack and Diane. Jack had a broken front paw and recovered with limited activity and rest. Diane’s case was a little more complicated. She had breaks in both back legs. Her left tibia had a nonunion that was acting like a hinge. Her right femur was misaligned and needed surgical repair. Her incredible surgeon has released her to full activity and doesn’t expect any complications. Diane is fully vetted, kennel trained and housetrained. Diane will do best in a home with a fenced yard and a dog with a similar activity level.
