Story
Peanutbutter is a perfect angel according to the volunteer who took her on a day trip. Here is her report:We had so much fun today!! She hopped into the car right away and stayed calm the whole time. She devoured her pup cup before we headed to downtown Davis for the craft fair. She did amazing with all the people there. Super chill with the crowds and live music. She's adult and kid friendly and did well nearby other dogs! She learned 'sit' very quickly and is very food motivated! We got some chicken for lunch and sat in the grass at Central Park. She LOVES rolling in the grass and is a big cuddler. So if you want 83 lbs. of love, make an appointment to meet our Peanut at yoloshelter.org/dogs, or email adopt@yoloshelter.org.August 21, 2026, 11:03 am

Story
We bought Kona from a Cane Corso breeder 4 years ago when she was 4 months old. She used to try to “check” my young daughter’s place in the pack with small nips here and there but because she was a puppy, we chalked it up to youth and thought we’d trained her out of it. It hasn’t continued to be much of an issue as they’ve both gotten older. We had another baby and unfortunately she’s shown unprompted aggression towards him 3 times now and we cannot risk keeping her. Kona is incredibly lovable and sweet. She loves her pets and cuddles. She’s fiercely loyal and protective and we all feel safer having her around. She’s crate & house trained. Shes a very good dog and a traditional cane corso through and through. I work from home so she is used to constant companionship. Please research the breed thoroughly before considering adoption.

Story
Hi all, this is Bruce. I believe he is 3yrs old. When my son and I came across him 3mo. ago he was in very bad health. He was extremely skinny and truthfully we did not think he’d make it this long. Although our family isn’t in a position to care for a dog, we couldn’t bring ourselves to drop him off in a shelter. He is on the smaller side for his breed. He plays well with other dogs and seems very interested in playing with our cats but they are scared and never go near him. He is also good around kids. We’ve taken him to plenty parks and lakes and he does very well around people. He doesn’t bark at animals/people on his walks and only pulls out of excitement when seeing another dog. Of course with finding him in the condition he was in, he definitely needs vet care, unfortunately that is not something we can afford. We are hoping to find him a caring home with experienced owners. He’s been great to our family and deserves a second chance at having a happy life. Thanks for looking ❤️
