Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi there! My name is Rocco! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I am a very handsome boy. HOW OLD ARE YOU? Although we don’t have an exact birthdate, the best estimate is that I was born sometime in late 2025. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? Cane Corso HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? 56 pounds WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am such a good looking dude, if I do say so myself! I have a brindle coat, cute little ears, and a short tail that I love to wag. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love my kibble! Small pieces of watermelon are delicious too. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m the sweetest pup. I love to play and nap and get lots of attention. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: Play. Eat. Nap. Repeat. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I like toys that are easy to carry around in my mouth. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I know what the word “No” means. WHAT SCARES YOU? Sudden loud noises sometimes scare me. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes, they love me and I love them. I have played with kids who range in age from three years to 16 years. DO YOU LIKE CATS? What is a cat? My foster family has a chicken that I like to chase around a little bit, but I am such a good boy and have never laid a paw on her. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love them so much! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Hanging out with my family or napping in my crate. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I’m very healthy. I have a neurological disorder called Canine Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CCH.) It makes my back end wobbly, and I sometimes have small seizures. Although I can get around fairly well on hard floors, I am more stable and comfortable on carpet or grass. My depth perception isn’t great, so I bump into things sometimes and walking down steps is a challenge. But I don’t let it stop me from having fun and running around. When I fall down, I get right back up again! Life is an adventure! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, dad, brother (16), sister (13) and their Frenchie. I love them all, but my foster dad is probably my favorite. He is so fun to play with in the mornings! WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I love hanging out in my cozy crate! WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? No, but I like to be pushed in a doggie stroller. It’s so fun to see all the goings-on out in the neighborhood! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? My foster mom says I am a naughty boy when I bite at her plants, especially when I pull them out of the pot. And, when I get really excited during playtime, I can mistake an ankle for a toy. All it takes is someone giving me a toy to correct my mistake. I’m still pretty young and getting used to all the new things I’m encountering from day to day. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I’m still working on it. My CCH makes this harder for me. I usually wear a belly band (pee-pee diaper) in the house. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I do! I think the hose and sprinklers are fun, and I can swim. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? My foster family has spent a lot of time figuring out what accommodations I need. They have been really patient and loving. I know I am safe with people who care about my well-being. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOUR FUTURE ADOPTER? I am really excited to find my forever family! I know the right person or people will come for me, and we will have the BEST time together forever and ever! I’m looking forward to meeting you! **ROCCO’S ADOPTION FEE IS $ 300** If you are interested in adopting Rocco, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? I am Amira! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a a lovely lady! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born in March 2022. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? Cane Corso HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m a perfectly-proportioned 80 pounds of fabulous! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a beautiful soft grey coat with soulful eyes. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like my kibble just fine, but, oh boy, do I love Nubz and any treats I can convince my humans to give me! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m extremely playful and loyal. I love being near my human as much as possible. I especially love playing fetch or getting to chase after my foster brother. We have so much fun together! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I like to wake up nice and early, as I’m always excited for breakfast. Then I savor my leisurely schedule with a nice long bone-chewing session. As long as I get some playtime, cuddles, and a good walk, I don’t mind what order it’s in…I just want to be with you as much as possible. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Oh, the MOST fun toy for me is my Kong ball! I have so much fun chasing it around! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Sit, Down, Shake and I’m working on Stay. My foster mom says I’m SUCH a smart girl! WHAT SCARES YOU? I’m scared of being left alone, so I cry when my human leaves me alone. But I’m starting to get more comfortable being alone knowing that it’s not for long. And I am also not a fan of fireworks…Big booms in the sky? No, thank you! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I’ve met a few kids and they seem nice, but I’m a big girl so I think my excitement might be a little much for small kids. Older children only, please! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I see them on walks and they look fun to chase. I think I’ll pass on them as a playmate, though! HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love hanging out and playing with my foster brother. I wasn’t so sure about him at first, but now he’s my best friend. With slow introductions, I will make friends just fine. Please set me up for success! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Right next to my human. I’m very loyal and lovable, so wherever you are sounds good to me! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am strong and healthy. Foster mom says I am perfect… and I think foster mom is absolutely right about that! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, her brother, and my 100-pound pit bull brother. I love them all, but foster mom is my favorite. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I really don’t like being left alone, but I am safe in my crate when foster mom needs to go out. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I am a good girl sleeping in my cozy crate overnight. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Yes, I love walks and am SUCH a good girl on leash! I need to be reminded of my manners sometimes because there are so many interesting things to see out in the world and I get a little excited! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I get anxious when I get left in my crate, so I scratch and lick at the sides too much sometimes. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes, I haven’t had a single accident in the house! DO YOU LIKE WATER? The rain is not for me, but I am a very good girl in the bath. I actually enjoy them! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They spoil me with treats and cuddles, I get lots of time to play with my foster brother and there’s always a bone to chew on when I get tired. Also, we have a great neighborhood for long walks, which is so much fun for me! Oh…and my foster mom even takes me on car rides to get these things called pup cups! Yummy! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? My owner got pretty sick and couldn’t take care of me anymore, so I had to go to the shelter. Luckily, NorCal Bully Breed Rescue got me out of there and took me to a wonderful foster home. Now it is time for me to find a home of my own where I will be loved for the rest of my life! I would really love to meet you and come home with you! Sounds amazing, right? **AMIRA’s ADOPTION FEE IS $100** If you are interested in AMIRA, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
We bought Kona from a Cane Corso breeder 4 years ago when she was 4 months old. She used to try to “check” my young daughter’s place in the pack with small nips here and there but because she was a puppy, we chalked it up to youth and thought we’d trained her out of it. It hasn’t continued to be much of an issue as they’ve both gotten older. We had another baby and unfortunately she’s shown unprompted aggression towards him 3 times now and we cannot risk keeping her. Kona is incredibly lovable and sweet. She loves her pets and cuddles. She’s fiercely loyal and protective and we all feel safer having her around. She’s crate & house trained. Shes a very good dog and a traditional cane corso through and through. I work from home so she is used to constant companionship. Please research the breed thoroughly before considering adoption.
