Story
Welcome Jacks to CCPAL Rescue. Jacks is an 11-month-old Cane Corso/Australian Heeler. He is very affectionate, knows sit, loves water and can open a fence latch. He is a smart boy. He really is attentive and has had a wonderful foster before entering the shelter. He is wonderful at sitting when you ask him to sit. A carabiner is adequate to block him from flipping the latch of the gate open. This is what we use to secure the gate of his kennel. We don’t think he is the type that wants to run away. He is smart and bored in his kennel is all. He is a great dog and we think he would be a great hiker, walker and companion dog for an outdoor enthusiast. He loves all people and doesn’t seem at all bothered by strangers. He is friendly to everyone. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 and older due to his size. He weighs about 60 pounds and looks to be a good weight. He has a beautiful blocky head and with the harness on he was relatively easy to walk. We are looking for a moderately active family for this dog. We think he is very handsome and is going to appeal to men because of his beautiful head and athletic build. He is neutered, vaccinated, healthy and ready for his forever home. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get this gorgeous dog to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the east Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    London is a lovely gentle giant with an even bigger heart. At 102 pounds, she is all about love, comfort, and keeping watch over her home. She spends her days lounging on a big dog bed, soaking up time outside in the yard, and proudly standing guard at the fence. London absolutely adores her people, happily flopping over for belly rubs and nudging your hand for more scratches. She is social, affectionate, and easy to love. London has done well with other dog-friendly dogs and would likely enjoy a canine companion in her future home, but she also has plenty of love to give as the only dog as long as her people are home often. She is fully potty trained (outside only) and crates beautifully with no issues and she also knows commands like come, stay, crate/kennel, and outside. She loves bully sticks and other chews, which are some of her favorite ways to relax. London does like to bark at passing cars, but she is otherwise a sweet, steady girl who has no concerning reaction to people or other dogs. She recently did very well at the vet, and although she was muzzled for her exam due to hip discomfort, she handled it beautifully without any fuss. Because London has chronic hip dysplasia and significant joint issues, she will need lifelong pain management to keep her comfortable. She will also need a home with a fenced grass yard, since hard surfaces and long walks on cement are not ideal for her mobility. Even with those needs, London is a happy, loving, social dog who still has so much joy to give. London is the kind of dog who will fill your home with love, loyalty, and a calm, comforting presence. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Age: 8 years old Weight: 120 lbs Dog friendly: Needs slow intros to some dogs Cat friendly: Yes, dog savvy cats are best Kid friendly: Yes, age 15+ is ideal due to size Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Does well free roam Adoption fee: $225 Hey you… yeah, you. 💜 I might be your girl. Hi! I'm Kui, an 8-year-old, 120 lb sweetheart looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home. Sure, I may look a little rough around the edges, but don’t let that fool you. I’m probably the softest dog you’ll ever pet… both literally and in spirit. 💕 You’ll get a big, loving shadow who adores belly rubs, couch cuddles, and a little morning play before settling in for a championship-level nap. 😆 I’m potty trained, trustworthy with free roam of the house, not destructive, and my exercise needs are refreshingly low. My favorite things? A fresh bone, a quick game of fetch, leisurely sniffari walks, and absolutely demolishing a cardboard box just because it’s fun. I also take my daily medications like a perfect lady—as long as they’re tucked inside a bite of deli meat. If you’re looking for a bed buddy, I’ll happily curl up beside you all night… and the best part? No snoring! I’m simply happiest hanging out with my people and don’t mind sharing a little drool as payment for all the love I’ll give you. Stairs used to make me nervous. I'm proud to say I have mastered them now, and kiddos 15+ are ideal. I can be your one-and-only or live with other dogs after slow introductions, and I’m respectful with dog-savvy cats. If you’ve got a big heart and a little extra space, I’d love nothing more than to fill it. ❤️

Story
At almost 1 year old and weighing just under 70 pounds, Gordo is a handsome Cane Corso, Mastiff, and Bulldog mix with a soft heart and plenty of growing left to do. While he may already look like a big dog, he’s still very much a puppy at heart and is learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. Gordo came to BENCHS after he, his mother Sasha, and another dog were abandoned at a boarding kennel. Despite the uncertainty he’s experienced at such a young age, he has shown us that beneath his cautious nature is a sweet, gentle soul who simply needs a little extra time to feel safe. One of the first things you’ll notice about Gordo is his incredibly beautiful eyes. He’s what we like to call a soul gazer—when he looks at you, it feels like he’s looking right into your heart. Once you’ve earned his trust, Gordo has the sweetest way of showing his affection. He loves to gently rest his forehead against yours, quietly soaking in the moment, and despite his size, he’s convinced he’s a lap dog. Those quiet moments of connection are where Gordo truly shines. Gordo is a sensitive boy who is currently working on building his confidence. He thrives with patient, gentle people who allow him to move at his own pace and celebrate the little victories along the way. When people move too quickly or expect too much too soon, Gordo can become worried and choose to avoid the situation. Rather than pushing through his fears, he does best with people who recognize his body language, give him space when he needs it, and let him discover that he’s safe on his own terms. Like many large-breed dogs, Gordo will continue to mature both physically and emotionally over the next couple of years. With positive reinforcement, consistency, and plenty of encouragement, we believe he’ll blossom into the loyal, steady companion he’s meant to be. Treats, praise, and a calm environment will go a long way in helping him succeed. Because of his sensitive nature, Gordo would do best with gentle, patient adopters who understand that confidence takes time to build. The reward is extraordinary: watching a shy young dog transform into a devoted gentle giant whose trust is deeply earned and whose love is genuine. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and believe that the best relationships are built through patience, kindness, and mutual trust, Gordo may be the perfect addition to your family.

Not good with cats,
Story
At just under 2 years old and weighing a little over 80 pounds, Sasha is a beautiful Cane Corso/Mastiff mix (best guess) with an easygoing personality and a heart as big as she is. Sasha came to BENCHS after she, another dog, and her adult son were abandoned at a boarding kennel. Despite the uncertainty she's experienced, she has remained a friendly, well-rounded dog who has quickly become a favorite among our staff. Sasha has a wonderful balance of independence and affection. She enjoys spending time with her people, happily stopping by for pets and attention before finding a cozy spot to settle in for a nap. She's not demanding, just content to be near the people she trusts. Like many Mastiff-type dogs, Sasha enjoys taking life at a relaxed pace, but she's always ready to investigate the world around her. One of her favorite pastimes is following her nose, and she loves taking her time to sniff and explore. She's also very food motivated, making treats a great way to continue building on her training and strengthening your bond. Sasha has been friendly with every new person she's met at BENCHS. She previously lived with two other large male dogs and has done well with them. We are unsure how she would do with cats or young children, so any introductions should be made thoughtfully. If you're looking for a loyal, calm companion who enjoys quiet moments, leisurely sniffing adventures, and plenty of snacks, Sasha may be the perfect addition to your family. She has shown us what a kind, steady dog she is, and she's ready to find the forever home she deserves.

Story
I have had bone since he was a puppy. He has been a big part of mine and my children’s life for 4.5 years. Life has thrown some curve balls and I am no longer able to keep him and his happiness. Boone is great with kids and is very loving. He deserves a big yard and room to run.
