This Cane Corso needs someone that can dedicate a lot of time with her. She was never trained properly we only acquired her a month or 2 ago and unfortunately she is not a good fit for our family. She is somewhat house broken but has separation anxiety which has gotten better but will probably never go away completely. She has snapped at us in stressful situations mainly around new men.

Athena is an active velcro dog who stays by your side whether you are indoors or spending time outside. She loves playing fetch and tug-of-war but also entertains herself with her favorite toys or chewing on her favorite bone.She does well without a crate, including during work hours and overnight. Loud noises like thunder, fireworks, and bug zappers can make her anxious.Athena takes a moment to warm up to new people, but once comfortable she becomes a loyal protector and best friend.Due to her size and strength, she is best suited for a home with older children. She would do best in an only dog home or with larger male dogs, as she has shown aggression towards 1 of our female dogs due to alpha traits.Athena's vaccinations are up to date until 8/29 and she was spayed on 8/17/26.We have had Athena since 1/2/26, 2 days before her 1st birthday, and we are heartbroken to say goodbye to her. She needs a safe home, sense of purpose and an endless supply of ear scratches and belly rubs.

What would be the best kind of home: Slim Jim is looking for a patient, adult home that can offer structure, consistency, and plenty of companionship. Because he is a big, enthusiastic 75‑lb lap‑dog who still jumps when excited, he would do best in a home without young children; respectful kids 12+ may be appropriate. He is dog‑reactive and prefers to have his person all to himself, so he is best as an only dog, though a calm, respectful dog may be possible with careful introductions. Cats are unknown. Slim Jim cannot be left alone at this time and needs someone who is home consistently. A two‑adult household would be ideal so he can share his affection and not become overly dependent on just one person. He loves all people and bonds quickly. Before rescue, Slim Jim lived on the streets and had to survive on his own. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Approved adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina and Kentucky.
