Story
ntroducing Trace (A568006) ?????Trace’s journey to our shelter was anything but simple. He arrived as a stray after spending several weeks wandering around the Meta property where staff saw him trying his best to survive. He had hundreds of acres to disappear into and was far too fearful to approach anyone, so he ultimately had to be safely trapped in order to get him the help he needed. After such a massive shift in his life, Trace was understandably stressed when he first arrived, but every day he has settled a little more and is now in our adoption area doing much better.Trace is still wary of people, and we encourage anyone meeting him to take their time and move at his pace. He is a genuinely good boy who wants to be loved but is still learning that people can be safe. Recently he began going out in large playgroups where he completely comes out of his shell. The transformation is incredible. As soon as he is surrounded by other dogs, his fear melts away and he becomes playful, confident and joyful. It is safe to say he would love living in a home with other dogs who can help guide him.Trace has not had much exposure to leashes in his life and can become overwhelmed by them. He has chewed through leashes before when frightened, so adopters should be very careful and patient as he continues to learn. The good news is that he has already improved during his walks to playgroup and is making progress.Trace is estimated to be around 11 months old and weighs 76 pounds. All animals adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, spayed/neutered and given a 30 day flea/tick preventative.Ready to meet Trace? Stop by 4950 Triana Blvd SW in Huntsville, Alabama. No appointment is necessary to meet our available animals. All adopters must be 19 years or older and be able to provide a valid ID.

Story
Meet Kaine! Kaine may look rough and tough, but his heart is as soft as a cloud! He was surrendered to us when his previous owner no longer had the time needed to properly care for him. Kaine is a very energetic boy who absolutely loves being around people. When he gets excited, he sometimes forgets his size and may give an enthusiastic body slam while looking for attention! Because of his high energy and strength, Kaine would do best in a home with teens and older who can keep up with his playful spirit. Kaine is a sweet, fun-loving dog who is ready to find an active home that will give him the love, attention, and exercise he deserves.

Story
Meet Petunia, the 3 year old Bull Terrier/Cane Corso mix whose infectious happiness lights up every room. This spirited canine is looking for her forever home and is overjoyed to be surrounded by her loving foster family. Petunia's perpetual joy is most evident when she sees her family, her tail wagging with boundless enthusiasm. One remarkable aspect of Petunia's story is her remarkable compatibility with other dogs. She effortlessly forges friendships with fellow canines, creating a harmonious atmosphere wherever she goes. Not just limited to her furry companions, Petunia is a natural around children of all ages, displaying a gentle and playful demeanor that makes her an ideal family pet. Despite a challenging start in life, Petunia's indomitable spirit shines through. Discovered in a field as a stray, she bore the scars of past hardships - two dislocated hips and a shattered left back ankle. Remarkably, these injuries had already healed, and Petunia now navigates her world with grace. Although surgery is deemed too risky, her resilience allows her to walk and even run, proving that love and care can overcome adversity. Beyond her physical strength, Petunia is a model of good behavior. House trained and affectionate, she revels in pets, cuddles, and the pure bliss of tummy rubs. Petunia's journey from a field to a loving home is a testament to her resilience, and she serves as an inspiration to all who cross her path. She is house trained, microchipped, fully vaccinated, & spayed. She is being fostered in Seguin, TX and is ready for her new home. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link.
