Story
Sirius is a gentle giant who has grown up around babies and young children. He loves everyone and is not afraid to show it. He is house trained, leash trained, and crate trained. Unfortunately, Sirius has severe separation anxiety and has a history of becoming destructive if left alone. He will do whatever he can to get back to his people so he would do best in a home where he can be a constant companion. We would love to keep him but we know we are not available enough to meet his needs. We are hoping to find a family experienced in big dogs that may need extra time and patience. The fee is really only so we can ensure he is going to an owner serious about taking on the care and responsibility for Sirius.

Story
Meet Sirius! He's looking for a new family who has the space and time for him. Sirius is 18 months old and 130 lbs. as of September 2026. He's neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.  His fee is $275 and you can apply online if you're interested in learning more. Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society Here's a note from his family: Sirius loves to play with toys and chase balls at the dog park. He is leash trained and does not pull. He prefers to stay close and keep his people safe. For car rides he does okay but gets overexcited and will hop over seats. He’s never swam in a body of water but does love playing in sprinklers. Sirius knows sit, stay, come, and where’s the baby which we taught him to go be with our toddlers. He has bursts of energy throughout the day but is generally pretty lazy. His ideal family would be a family that at least one of his people works from home or is a stay at home parent because he can get anxious being alone. Sirius absolutely adores kids because he’s grown up with babies that are now toddlers and a school age child. He has never met a cat but has been socialized with our older dog. Our older dog is 1/3 his size and they still play without any harm to her. Any family that is considered should understand that he is a giant breed dog who can be expensive to take to a vet, eats A LOT, and is completely unaware of his size. Sirius is absolutely still a baby and a gentle giant. He has no issues with strangers in his home but will bark to alert if he sees anyone new from a window. He is crate trained but vocal when he needs to go out in the morning. We love our boy but the change in family dynamics have made it necessary to find him a family that can give him everything I mentioned and more. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Stella is a stunning 4-year-old brindle Cane Corso with a gentle heart to match her impressive size. At 120 pounds, she’s a big girl, but she is sweet-natured, affectionate, and enjoys being around people. Stella is friendly with people and loves attention. She would do best with an owner who has experience with large breeds or is familiar with the Cane Corso’s loyal and protective nature. She’ll thrive in a home that can provide structure, regular exercise, and plenty of love. Rehoming Stella is a heartbreaking decision. Due to unexpected health issues in our family, we can no longer provide the level of care and attention she deserves. Our priority is finding her a safe, stable, and loving forever home where she can continue to flourish. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and have the time and experience to care for a wonderful Cane Corso, Stella may be the perfect addition to your family.
