Hi! I'm currently being cared for in our shelter clinic and on the road to recovery. A foster home or a potential pre-adopter can help give me a soft place to land while I heal. Please email dog-foster-placement@austinpetsalive.org to learn more!

Story
Phor is a very sweet, affectionate dog who genuinely loves people and thrives on human interaction. He has a naturally protective instinct, making him a great companion and a strong presence in the home. He’s intelligent and responsive—he knows basic commands and a few tricks, and he’s eager to please when working with someone consistent. He would do best with an owner who can continue reinforcing structure and training, especially around socializing with other dogs. With the right guidance, he has the potential to become well-balanced in multi-dog environments. I’m preparing to leave for the military, so I’m looking for a stable, committed home where he’ll get the attention, leadership, and consistency he deserves.

Story
Bane II is a 4-year-old Cane Corso with a loyal, loving, and protective personality. He has been raised in a family environment and enjoys spending time around people he trusts. Bane is intelligent, alert, and affectionate once he becomes comfortable, and he thrives in a calm and structured home. He would do best with an experienced adopter who understands large breeds and can provide consistent guidance, patience, and plenty of space to exercise and relax. Bane has been an important part of the home, but due to ongoing health conditions, I am no longer able to provide the level of care and attention he deserves. My goal is to find him a safe, stable, and loving home where he can continue to thrive and receive the time and care he needs. He would make a great companion for someone and committed to giving him a secure environment. Bane is strong, smart, and deeply loyal to his family. I am looking for a responsible adopter who will

Story
Meet Petunia, the 3 year old Bull Terrier/Cane Corso mix whose infectious happiness lights up every room. This spirited canine is looking for her forever home and is overjoyed to be surrounded by her loving foster family. Petunia's perpetual joy is most evident when she sees her family, her tail wagging with boundless enthusiasm. One remarkable aspect of Petunia's story is her remarkable compatibility with other dogs. She effortlessly forges friendships with fellow canines, creating a harmonious atmosphere wherever she goes. Not just limited to her furry companions, Petunia is a natural around children of all ages, displaying a gentle and playful demeanor that makes her an ideal family pet. Despite a challenging start in life, Petunia's indomitable spirit shines through. Remarkably, these injuries had already healed, and Petunia now navigates her world with grace. Although surgery is deemed too risky, her resilience allows her to walk and even run, proving that love and care can overcome adversity. Beyond her physical strength, Petunia is a model of good behavior. House trained and affectionate, she revels in pets, cuddles, and the pure bliss of tummy rubs. Petunia's journey from a field to a loving home is a testament to her resilience, and she serves as an inspiration to all who cross her path. Story
Misha is sweet, super cuddly and loving and mostly sleepy dog but a bit difficult. He loves to play, go swimming and camping, and take naps with you. But he is reactive, loud, not very obedient, and he has resource guarding tendencies due to his breed/ high anxiety and I believe lack of job. I just dont have the resources to handle him at this point in my life. He has never bitten a person or a dog and can be very friendly and loving and playful but he does lung/ snarl/ snap at times when guarding resources, NEVER at me, only at others so he would do well with a single person or couple who is home a lot and/ or a lot of land to get out his energy. He needs space and time and someone who can invest in him. Need a new home by the time I move at the end of June.
