Can you imagine how scared a gentle giant must have been to be found dumped in a public bathroom?Bronx deserves more than to be judged by his size, his look, or his breed. He deserves someone who sees the resilience in him, the softness in him, and the dog he is still becoming. Right now, he is far too skinny, and it is clear life has not always been kind to him, but Bronx is still here, still trying, and still full of heart. He may be a very large dog, but at his core Bronx is a gentle marshmallow in a giant dog body. He is sweet, goofy, playful, and just a little dramatic in the charming way. He can be a little hand shy when first meeting someone and likes a moment to make sure he is safe, but once he knows you, he is deeply loyal and devoted. Bronx is the kind of dog who stays close, leans in for pets, and looks at you with those big soulful eyes like he has been waiting for you. Despite his size, he is gentle with his love. He does not want to bowl you over. He just wants to be near you, learn with you, and be a little team together. He is house trained in kennel, leash trained, laid back, food motivated, and playful, which gives him such a strong foundation for the person willing to give him a real, stable chance. What Bronx needs now is someone patient and kind. Someone who will choose him not because he looks impressive, but because they understand what it means to help a dog come back into himself. Give Bronx a little time, some good meals, and a safe place to land, and you may just end up with the most loyal sidekick of all. Primary Color: Black Weight: 89.4375 Age: 2yrs 1mths 3wks

Anyone looking for a new buddy❓️ Look no further!‼️ Here's our BIG, BEAUTIFUL BOY, ❤️BODHI❤️...he is available for adoption! He is aprox 105 lbs Cane Corso/Bully? approx 7 yrs old, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated, crate trained, house broken, quiet, except when he needs food, water, potty etc then he has this very loud bark😅...best with no other dogs😳 wants a place where he's your ‼️ONE & ONLY ANIMAL‼️ Great with women and older kids(12 and up)☺️ does NOT like ALL men😳 ONLY SOME men😳 so maybe their deep voice or height bothers him...we don't know😳 He is an INDOOR ONLY dog‼️ lying around all day, he likes to chill out, but he does like supervised outside playtime and runs around a SECURE yard, or going for walks nicely ON LEASH, loves a kiddy pool to splash in😅...if interested, please contact us for a meet & greet. An adoption fee, contract and yard/home safety check will be required before adoption... All Tails Matter Rescue

Story
|Santiago is a striking dog with a mostly white coat and a unique mix of white, tan, and grey on his face. He looks like a blend of Shepherd, Anatolian or Pyrenees, and Great Pyrenees, and carries himself with a gentle, thoughtful presence. At around 50 pounds, he’s a medium-large dog with a calm energy that makes him a steady companion. In the care of a foster home, Santiago has shown that he can settle when given space, patience, and quiet encouragement. He is comfortable in a household with other dogs and doesn’t react to normal activity or people moving around, showing that he can learn to feel safe in a calm, structured environment. Car rides are still a bit overwhelming, and new experiences can be intimidating for him, but with a gentle guide, Santiago is beginning to show curiosity and trust. He is not destructive and adjusts well when left alone in a secure, quiet space. Santiago is looking for a patient home that can continue to help him gain confidence, offering calm reassurance and gentle guidance. With the right family, he has the potential to blossom into a loving, loyal companion.

Story
Hit the trail with Oatmeal a sweet 4-year-old wheelie dog shepherd, Anatolian mix currently at Austin Pets Alive! She is a calm and gentle creature with a weakness for pets and treats. Her love for cuddles is bound to warm your heart. She is also a social bug who loves a crowd. She is an exceptional pup and a staff favorite at Austin Pets Alive!. Not a lot is known about Oatmeal's past life, but we know she arrived at APA! with a chronic spinal injury that led to paralysis in her hind legs. However, she is resilient and doesn't let her paralysis stop her from living her best life. Oatmeal is a very chill dog who enjoys toys, walks, and cuddles. She also loves meeting people of all ages and has the potential to live with another dog. Taking care of Oatmeal does not cause much trouble; she just needs some help going potty. This is a straightforward technique that can be taught quickly. She also uses a wheelchair to go on walks, but using a sling to pick up her hind legs and place them in the chair makes this process smooth and easy. An ideal home for her would be one where she can easily enter and exit with her wheels and navigate by scooting around without risking getting injured or falling. Having designated areas for her would be preferred while she becomes accustomed to the new environment. Oatmeal is a member of the exclusive Ruff Tail Runners, a group of dogs trained to walk or run on Lady Bird Lake. This little off-campus activity allows these dogs to get a nice break from their kennels and showcase them in front of many trailgoers to help them get adopted. During her trail walks, Oatmeal loves to sniff around and engage in her favorite sport, squirrel-watching, which she's quite proficient at. She is an excellent reminder of resilience and willpower. Nothing can stop this sweet pup from sharing her love with everyone, no matter how tough things might get, motivating everyone around her to keep pushing in whatever challenge they may face Oatmeal is ready to "roll out" of the shelter in her pink wheelchair and into a loving home. If you'd like to foster or adopt Oatmeal or any of our adorable adoptable pets, visit our website, austinpetsalive.org, or come in person at 1156 W Cesar Chavez near downtown Austin. Oatmeal was also recently featured in Austin Fit Magazine! https://www.austinfitmagazine.com/October-2024/pet-of-the-month-oatmeal/

Story
Meet Odie, an 8-month-old male Anatolian Shepherd puppy with a giant heart and an even bigger road to recovery ahead. Odie recently underwent orthopedic fracture repair surgery on 1/9/26 and is now in need of a medical foster who can give him a calm, safe place to heal. Odie’s surgery was successful, but the next several weeks are critical to ensure proper healing. He needs a foster who can follow a structured recovery plan and provide lots of patience, supervision, and love. Despite the restrictions, Odie is still a puppy—sweet, resilient, and deserving of comfort while he heals. Having a foster home instead of prolonged kennel rest will make a huge difference in his recovery and emotional well-being. All medical care is covered—we just need someone to provide the space, structure, and compassion Odie needs to heal safely.
