Meet Cheesy Weesy, the perfect mix of energy, fun, and sweetness! She’s truly a happy-go-lucky dog that is crate trained, potty trained, and full grown! She’s great for any type of home, but beware, she gets the zoomies once a day. Cheesy Weesy gets along beautifully with other dogs and people, making her the ideal buddy for any family or household. Ideally, children over 5, as she’s still learning not to jump. She loves to snuggle after dinner and in the mornings. Cheesy Weesy is a 1 year old Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Story
Meet Rex! Rex is a totally sweet 11-month-old, 20 lb. Cardigan Corgi / Miniature Aussie Shepherd with a gorgeous Merle coat who’s looking for a new place to land. He is an energetic, young boy but  his person has knee problems preventing long walks and adventures, so Rex will enjoy being with adopter(s) who can give him the walks, hikes, training and exercise that will help him thrive. Rex is a bit sensitive to new people due to an unfortunate incident when he was a young puppy, but he’s also a fast learner!  With a good force free trainer, who we recommend, he’ll become a wonderful companion for the right home. He’s great with other dogs, neutered, housetrained, crate-trained and up to date on his vaccines. We're saying no kids under 15, as Rex hasn’t had much experience with them. Cats will take some work as he's young and will chase a cat if it runs. He sleeps in his crate at night and also naps on the bed. He does great in the car but occasionally alerts his person that there are people nearby on the street. He knows his basic cues and is working on new ones.  Rex will need a home with a fenced yard and room to roam. No apartments or condos for this active boy! Rex is a total love bug once he gets to know you. I'm Noel. I'm a little gift waiting to brighten someone's life. I have a big personality packed into my petite frame. I'm a chaser, so no cats or small dogs for me. I'd really like to be an only pet, where I can soak up all the love and attentions myself. I'm loyal, loving and ready to be your holiday and forever companion. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2607619##
