Story
**Note: Danpoong is currently in a foster home in Vancouver. For more info about her or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/danpoong-2/ ----------------------------------------------- Background Danpoong and her brother Danbam were rescued from a cow farm last year. They were kept beside the farm and meant to become guard dogs. Sadly they were neglected, left without proper care, water, or shelter, and fed only leftover human food. Our volunteers saw them one day and could not walk away. Every time food was brought, the puppies were overjoyed to see a friendly face. It took several months of patient conversations, but the owner finally agreed to surrender them. Our volunteers saw them one day and could not walk away. Every time food was brought, the puppies were overjoyed to see a friendly face. It took several months of patient conversations, but the owner finally agreed to surrender them. Danbam has been adopted by a wonderful family in Toronto and now Danpoong is in a foster home in Vancouver waiting for her forever family. Personality and Socialization Danpoong is a smart, brave, and very affectionate girl. She is the leader between the two siblings and always looks out for her brother, while Danbam happily follows her lead and copies everything she does. Danpoong loves people. She is curious, fearless, and very adaptable. She enjoys cuddles, kisses, and being close to her humans. She has a gentle confidence that makes her especially charming and easy to fall in love with. She gets along very well with other dogs, especially calm and friendly ones. She prefers gentle companions over loud or overly playful dogs. If she encounters a pushy or dominant dog, she simply walks away. She is ver cute, well mannered, and thoughtful in her interactions. Behaviour Danpoong is a fast learner and very cooperative. She does well in the car, during baths, and at the vet. When she was rescued, both she and her brother had parvo and spent two months hospitalized. Throughout that time, Danpoong remained calm, adaptable, and well behaved. She does not bark much and has not shown signs of separation anxiety. While she loves people, she is also able to settle and relax on her own. She is new to leash walking but is learning quickly and follows her human well. Health and Diet Danpoong is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. She receives monthly parasite prevention and eats dry food twice a day with no signs of allergies. She fully recovered from parvo last year and is healthy and ready for her forever home. Ideal Home Danpoong has a sweet, balanced personality and a medium energy level. She would be a wonderful match for many families, including first time dog parents or homes with another gentle dog. Her ideal home would be one where someone works from home or is retired, as she thrives on human companionship. Danpoong is loyal, intelligent, and easy to love. Adopting her together with her brother Danbam would be a dream come true, but it is not required. Whoever welcomes Danpoong into their life will be incredibly lucky. ---------------------------------------- For more info about her or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/danpoong-2/

Story
🏠 Currently  in a Vancouver foster home Hi, I’m Tanya 🤍 Let me tell you my story as I wait for my forever family. I was rescued from a shelter where euthanasia was imminent. With only a short time left, a miracle happened—and I was given a second chance at life. The bright, affectionate dog you see today exists because of that precious second miracle. I’m a loving girl who truly enjoys being close to people. I’m curious, cheerful, and full of warmth. When I get excited, I have short bursts of playful “zoomies,” but overall I have a calm and well-balanced energy. I have a pretty regular potty routine—about three times a day (around 8 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.). I can do both indoor and outdoor potty, and I usually use pads in my resting area. I’m not perfect yet, so a little continued potty training would help me shine even more. I eat twice a day and have been enjoying Royal Canin Medium kibble mixed with fresh Duet meals. I have a great appetite and love treats of all kinds! Because I do love food a bit too much, it’s best to keep human food safely out of reach. I’m very cooperative when it comes to grooming. I tolerate paw cleaning after walks, tooth brushing, baths, and even drying—none of them are my favorite, but I stay calm and patient. Nail trims have been done at the vet so far. I’m friendly and social with dogs of all sizes and get along well in group settings. On walks, I might pull a little if I see cats or big birds out of curiosity, but I haven’t shown any aggression toward cats. I bond deeply with my person and love staying close—I even prefer sleeping together. With strangers, I tend to warm up faster to women than men, but once I feel safe, my affection comes through. I walk nicely on leash with little pulling, though I sometimes circle around my person, so a shorter leash helps with control. I’m comfortable wearing both a collar and a harness. Stairs going down are still tricky for me, so I need to be carried, but going up is no problem at all. I love toys, especially squeaky ones—they’re my absolute favorite! I don’t have separation anxiety and can spend time alone calmly and confidently. I love human warmth. I understand the joy of living together. Once so close to the end, I’m now waiting for a family to share my whole life with. Will you be my forever family? 🐾
