Story
Sizzle, at 5 years young and 17lbs, is a gentle soul who is learning to trust and embrace the world around her. Her journey is a testament to her resilience and capacity for growth. This lovely Shiba Inu is on a path of discovery, understanding that hands can bring comfort and kindness. Her bravery is steadily on the rise, and she's making progress one paw at a time. Sizzle will approach people for treats but is still not sure about this whole "being pet" thing. While she may be timid, her confidence soars when she's in the company of another dog, and she finds comfort and courage in their presence.Sizzle is mostly leash trained, but for her safety and enjoyment, a 4ft fence is recommended, ensuring she can explore and play freely in a secure environment. This lovely pup revels in the simple joys of life, including fluffy blankets and the wonderful world of scents. Her patient nature means that she may take more time to fully open up, but once she does, the rewards are boundless.Sizzle has had a few seizures during her time with us, but her current medication regime seems to be working well. Our medical staff can provide you with information on managing her condition. Despite this hurdle, Sizzle remains determined to overcome all the adversity she has faced in her life and find joy and comfort in her forever home.If you're prepared to offer a loving and patient home to Sizzle, she's ready to unveil her true colors and share her heart with you. Apply at nmdr.org and let Sizzle's journey of trust and discovery begin with you!- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
