You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Monty requires an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can meet him. If you are interested in Monty, please submit an application now!  Here is the  link:   https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC .      Meet Monty! Monty is a sweet, 2-year-old, 30-pound mixed breed looking for a patient and loving forever home. He’s a timid at first and will need a family that understands the importance of giving him time to learn to trust.   Monty thrives around other dogs and will need a confident, friendly dog companion in his new home to help guide him and bring out his playful side. A fenced-in yard is a must so Monty can run around and enjoy playtime with his furry BFF.   Once Monty feels safe, his true personality shines—he’s a total attention-seeker who adores affection! He loves playing with toys and enjoys time with his dog buddies.   While he’s house-trained and crate-trained, Monty is still working on leash confidence. He much prefers backyard adventures to walks around the neighborhood. Monty is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. If you’re ready to give Monty the love and patience he needs, and have a playful pup to show him the ropes, he’ll be your loyal friend for life!   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.    We prefer that applicants live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care that might be needed during the two week trial period prior to adoptions being finalized.  For the right home for Monty, we may consider applicants who live further away.     INTERESTED IN ADOPTING MONTY? Nothing brightens your day quite like a balloon!! Meet Balloon: a 36 pound adult Carolina dog mix!! She is a beautiful pup with a caramel coat flecked with charcoal markings. Balloon’s signature look is one floppy ear paired with one ear that perks all the way up- what a charming look! Balloon is extremely friendly with humans and dogs alike. She loves to play, is good on a leash, and is an excellent listener (we think it must be that one perky ear!!). Balloon is best fur-iend material: adorable, friendly, smart, and playful! Send in your adoption request today and let Balloon inflate your 2025 with joy!

Story
Carolina Dog Mix Available Female, about 7 months old, amazingly smart I found a Carolina dog mix in Mcleansville, NC. Her owner died and the girlfriend let her loose and moved. The neighbors know the dog was roaming for at least three months. I couldn't take that she was going to be out when the nights dropped into the teens, so I lured her into my car and have had her for two weeks and named her Sophie. She has one ear that droops which is totally endearing. I've had her to the vet and got her first round of vaccines. Vet thinks she's about seven months old. She's 40 pounds. She's not spayed or chipped. She has a high prey instinct, she needed it to stay alive. She's extremely smart. Heck she lived on her own for at least three months and is healthy. Still, she tested positive to tick born diseases but she's on antibiotic and should be fine the vet said. She loves her stuffed animals and chew toys. I have a dog puzzle that neither of my dogs have solved. Sophie solved first time!
