Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. Ranger is a mix of possibly the Carolina Dog and Black Mouth Cur breeds. DOB 1/21/26. He currently weighs about 24#s…and will probably grow to 45-50#s…best guess. He is so happy, energetic and playful. He enjoys playing with all dogs in my rescue…about 10 dogs of all ages and sizes. He knows how to use the doggy door. He doesn’t have any prey drive when we pass the cats on our outdoor walks. He is crate trained and house trained. Ranger has a sweet demeanor and is adventurous, playful, extroverted and a snuggly puppy. On his very first day walking on a leash, he was so excited and happy to meet people in my neighborhood. I was surprised how well he walked on a leash (like a pro), smelling and discovering new things. He is definitely food driven and enjoys playing and running and just having fun. Once he is tired, he goes to his crate and can sleep for hours. He enjoys the fan near his crate and soft music - he is so content that I sometimes have to wake him up to go outside to relieve himself. He is quirky and always happy with those beautiful eyes and his sweet-nature. You will enjoy having a Ranger (to protect you), by your side and to grow up with you and your family! This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." Adoption Fee: Includes all of the vetting and transportation. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. Mustang Sally is a female Shepherd mix. DOB 2/1/26. She currently weighs about 22#...expected to get to be 40-50#s. She is a confident puppy learning her ways around the house. She enjoys playing with all 10 furry friends in our household. Mustang Sally is enthusiastic to meet strangers on the street when we walk. She quickly learned the art of walking on a leash. I was amazed by her skills and confidence in everything. She is a very happy, silly and affectionate puppy. She will be a great family dog…one that will give the kids exercise! I feel she will adapt well with cat owners because we have many on my street and she does not react to them. Mustang Sally will sit for food and learn many other common commands. She is crate trained and house trained. She loves car rides. She is very smart and mature for being a 5-mo-old puppy. I know she will please her owner and family. Story
Rehoming Amie my 2 year old dog She is not fixed. She is a Carolina Dog or American Dingo. She has separation anxiety from her human dad passing away in December last year. She needs lots of room to run, a male figure in her life. She loves kids. She is very energetic. She needs training. She is very loveable, very compassionate, always trying to comfort me when I’m sad or physically hurting. I have to rehome her because of my medical condition with my arm. Too energetic for me to keep up with her. She can’t be left alone or she may will fret. Still in puppy mode.

Story
Wednesday is currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we'll arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Wednesday. Meet Wednesday! Wednesday and her brother Pugsley were found roaming as strays at a local public school. They both were crossing a busy street and teachers were worried they would get hit by a car. One of the teachers reached out to us for help with getting the 2 off the streets and we were able to take them both in. Wednesday is now in a loving foster home and is flourishing, but she's ready for her forever home! Wednesday is estimated to be about 6 months old (as of 12/13/25) and is fully vaccinated and microchipped. She'll be spayed between 6 months - 1 year of age. Wednesday is a shepherd mix and currently weighs 30 pounds. We do anticipate she will grow to be a medium - large sized pup once she's fully grown. Breed, age & estimated weight are all based off of our vet's best estimate since we don't have any parents to go off of. Wednesday is dog friendly and currently lives with other dogs in her foster home. She enjoys running and playing with her doggie foster siblings. She's young and still has some puppy energy, but her foster mom also describes her as a couch potato who enjoys cuddles on the couch with her human. Wednesday is also cat friendly and currently lives with cats in her foster home. Her foster mom describes her as very calm and says that Wednesday is fine with the cats and doesn't really pay any attention to them. Wednesday is kid friendly and has been around children ages 2 and 8 and she is so sweet and gentle with everyone. Wednesday is potty and crate trained and does well in her crate! She stays in there while her foster mom is away from home for work or errands. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom at night time and is such a good girl. She curls up in bed and sleeps all through the night. Wednesday is still a young pup, so she's still learning to walk on a leash, but she's such a smart girl and a quick learner! Wednesday is great in the car and just sits back and enjoys the ride! Here's a small blurb about Wednesday from her foster mom: Wednesday is the sweetest girl and deserves the best home! She enjoys the company of her human and doggie companions and loves being near you and spending time with you. She's very patient with little kiddos and doesn't pay attention to the cats. She is gentle, sweet and cuddly. She's the perfect companion to take out to a coffee shop and just have her sit at your feet. She truly doesn't know a stranger! We've taken her to multiple events and she loves meeting new people and getting cuddles. She'll make the perfect addition to any loving family! Meet Morgan Name: MorganAge: Approximately 1.5–2 years oldGender: MaleWeight: 17 lbs (7.8 kg)Breed: Mixed Breed, rat terrier mixColor: Black Health & Wellness Neutered Vaccinated Heartworm Negative Compatibility Good with dogs: Yes Good with kids: Yes Good with cats: Yes Resource guarding: No Excessive barking: No Energy level: Medium Low-shedding coat Training & Habits Leash trained Rides well in the car Potty trained and has adjusted well to living in a home Crate trained (primarily for travel) When left alone, Morgan is calm and independent. He has spent most of his life around other dogs in foster care but is comfortable relaxing on his own when needed. As with any newly adopted dog, we recommend limiting alone time during the adjustment period and providing toys and enrichment to help him feel secure. At night, Morgan sleeps indoors on his cozy dog bed. Personality Morgan is the kind of dog who brightens every room he enters. He has a cheerful spirit, a loving heart, and a wonderful ability to make people smile. Intelligent, eager to please, and quick to learn, Morgan thrives on companionship and enjoys being part of the family. Though small in size, he has the confidence and personality of a much larger dog. He loves adventures, walks, and spending time with his people, but he also knows how to settle down and relax at home. His friendly, trusting nature makes him an excellent companion for families, couples, or individuals alike. Ideal Home Morgan would do best with an active family or someone looking for a loyal sidekick to share life's adventures. He's the perfect size for travel, outdoor activities, and cuddling on the couch afterward. If you've ever wanted a small dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Morgan may be your perfect match. Morgan's Rescue Story Morgan's future once seemed uncertain. At just three months old, he and his sibling were found abandoned in a deserted house in Guadalajara, Mexico. Thankfully, a compassionate passerby noticed them and reached out to a local animal advocate who immediately brought them to safety. While Morgan's sibling quickly found a home, Morgan has waited patiently for his turn. Like many black dogs, he has often been overlooked despite his wonderful personality and loving nature. Today, Morgan is healthy, happy, and ready to find the forever family he's been waiting for. Location: Mexico (waiting for a commited trial family to make the trip North) Adoption Fee: $600 Apply at: www.northwestwagrescue.org Morgan is such a gem—his future family is going to be very lucky. ##2162589##
