Apolo: The God of Good TimesIn ancient mythology, Apollo was the god of music, poetry, sunshine, and many other impressive things.Our Apolo has slightly different responsibilities.He is the god of walks.The god of playtime.The god of making friends with other dogs.And, perhaps most importantly, the god of receiving affection from humans.It's a demanding position, but someone has to do it.Apolo is a happy, playful, incredibly sweet young fellow who approaches life with the enthusiasm of a puppy convinced that something wonderful is about to happen.A walk? Wonderful!Another dog to play with? Even better!A human offering affection? Clearly, the gods are smiling upon him.Apolo has plenty of energy and would love a family that enjoys exercise, adventures, and spending time outdoors. He's particularly fond of canine companionship, so a friendly dog in his new home would be an excellent addition to his personal kingdom.Cats, however, are not invited to Mount Olympus.Despite his divine title, Apolo's story began in circumstances that were anything but heavenly.He was found abandoned outside an OXXO in San Pedro, suffering from a serious injury to one of his legs. Fortunately, someone recognized that this young god deserved a much better fate and brought him to safety.And Apolo, apparently, decided that life was still something worth celebrating.Today, he's a cheerful, affectionate puppy with a wonderful temperament and an impressive amount of enthusiasm. He already knows “sit,” “stay,” and “come,” although walking politely beside his human is still a skill he has yet to master.After all, when the entire world is full of interesting things, walking slowly can seem like a rather unreasonable request.Apolo isn't looking for a quiet life spent watching the world go by.He wants to be part of it.He wants adventures, games, dog friends, and humans who understand that a young god needs plenty of exercise—and an equally generous supply of love.In return, Apolo offers loyalty, happiness, affection, and the opportunity to share your home with a genuine deity.No temples required.Just a leash, a little patience, and plenty of belly rubs.This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement.
