Story
Staff Pet Pick: Howie with Kya, Shelter CoordinatorHowie is a very sweet, spunky older kitty who has completely won Kya’s heart — and honestly, it’s easy to see why. With his big personality and even bigger purrs, he’s always ready for a snuggle and will happily melt right into your arms.Kya describes him in three words: sweet, bossy, and laid-back — and that pretty much sums him up. He loves attention, wants to be near his people, and isn’t shy about letting you know when it’s time for food (or more pets). His sweet nature is what stands out most… he just genuinely loves being with people. But Howie’s story goes deeper than that. This 9-year-old gentleman has been through a lot. When he came back to us, he wasn’t feeling his best — he was very sick, underweight, and needed medical care. Our team got to work, and thanks to that care, Howie’s diabetes is now in remission, something we are incredibly proud of.He’s a completely different cat now — feeling good, enjoying life, and showing everyone just how special he is.Recently, Howie got to explore our catio — and that was a moment. He strutted out there like he owned the place, chasing leaves, soaking it all in, completely full of himself in the best way. It was pure Howie. He’s a character, through and through, with a personality you just don’t see every day. He’s also a total attention hog who wants to be wherever you are. He doesn’t love when you walk away, and if the pets stop too soon, he may give you a tiny reminder — just his way of saying, “hey… not done yet.” He can get a little overstimulated at times, but it all comes from how much he loves being with his people.Howie is looking for a home that will stay attentive to his health, keep him on a managed diet, and partner with a veterinarian to keep him feeling his best. With consistency and care, he is doing beautifully. He means a lot to our team, and he’s ready for someone who will truly cherish him.Adoption sponsored by Louis Cevigney — no fee to adopt.

Story
Cloud is a sweet, playful, happy young cat. Shes very communicative. She gets along great with other cats, adults, and kids. Her favorite games all have to do with chasing something. She loves throwing a toy up and down the stairs or chasing a laser. She loves to play and is really fun to play with. When she’s not playing she’ll cozy up on a chair or your lap. She’s very good at “making biscuits”. She is very good at cuddling and she is always down for an afternoon nap in bed with you.Cloud was recently diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease. She requires a gastrointestinal food, B12 injections once a week, and a prednisolone pill every other day. Since her diagnosis she has already shown positive signs of getting better! Before her diagnosis she had consistent diarrhea, and was always hungry. Due to her past, and from her disease, cloud is very food focused. *Not food aggressive*, just focused. She knows what time dinner is and will always try to get served beforehand! Cloud requires living in I home that has indoor cats only. With her taking prednisolone, she has the risk of getting infections. We love cloud. The only reason we are trying to rehome her is because we are moving across the country and feel that it is in the best interest of Cloud that she finds a home that’s more “stable”. Since we have adopted her we have provided the absolute best care and love. She has become an incredible cat. So if you’re not planning on moving across the country and feel a pull to a little extra caretaking, Cloud is the right fit for you!**Cloud is not at Upaws**If you are interested in Cloud please reach out to:Kathryn: (906) 361-0534 or klakanen@outlook.com

Story
Misty is 24 pounds of pure, tuxedo-patterned magnificence. She’s got a white chin that looks like it was dipped in cream and a heart that is just as sweet. After losing her person, Misty has been keeping to herself, tucked away in her `casa.` She’s a thinker, a quiet observer. But here is the secret: once you reach in with a brush, she completely transforms. That rumbling purr engine kicks into gear, and she becomes a 24-pound puddle of gratitude. She doesn`t just like being brushed—she adores it. It’s her way of saying, `Okay, I trust you.`Think about your favorite quiet corner—maybe the one where the sun hits the rug just right in the afternoon. That’s where Misty belongs. She isn’t the cat who’s going to jump on your counters or demand a spotlight. She’s the one who will wait for you to sit down with your coffee, then lean into your hand for a brushing session that lasts as long as you’ll let it.She’s looking for her Chapter Two. She isn`t looking for pity—she`s looking for a partner who appreciates the quiet beauty of a cat who knows how to love deeply. If your home is calm and your lap is sturdy enough for a big girl with an even bigger heart, Misty is waiting for you.Special Note: We are thrilled to announce that Misty is sponsored by The Bargain Barn! Her adoption fee has been 100% paid for, meaning there is no cost to adopt this beautiful girl into the right home.

Story
**Oliver Boo is not at UPAWS**I`ve had my sweet boy since he was a kitten. He loves attention and loves to be petted and brushed. He loves to curl up on my lap or next to me. He is an indoor only cat who likes to play with a few toys, especially the ones that smell like catnip. He will have his grooming bag and tools, litter box and litter and carrying case, and food bowls. He would do best being an only pet in a home. He`s friendly and loves everyone. I must re-home him due to my medical needs.Adoption fee is $60If interested in Oliver Boo, please reach out to:Annette: (520) 403-2287 or annettemlindstrom@msn.com
