Story
Elsa and Elodie were brought to us by a kind woman who found them abandoned in an apartment building on the east side of the city. All of the tenants had been evicted and these two girls were left alone in an apartment for 2 months. A neighbor was going in to feed them because all of the doors were left unlocked. Elsa was adopted from MHS in 2021 from the information we could gather from her microchip. We attempted to call the "owner" but the phone number was disconnected. Elsa is a beautiful siamese mix. Both kitties are sweet and we think they would love to find a home together. ##2613957##

Story
Luna is a beautiful lynx point domestic shorthair with soft, elegant markings and expressive eyes that reflect her gentle nature. She is a true love bug who enjoys affection and being close to her people. Luna thrives on companionship and is happiest when she can relax nearby, soak up attention, or curl up for a cozy cuddle.Luna has a calm, friendly personality and adapts well to a home environment. She enjoys a peaceful routine but also appreciates interactive moments, such as gentle playtime or simply following her humans from room to room. She has a loving presence that makes her easy to connect with and a joy to have around. She is well-suited for a slow-going, low-noise household where she can adjust at her own pace without being overwhelmed. In the right environment, she blossoms into a loyal, loving presence who brings a peaceful energy to the home. With kindness and consistency, Luna will reward her future family with gentle affection and the deep bond Siamese cats are known for.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $75

Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Oats is an 8 year old siamese cat! she’s a cuddle bug, loves to be carried around once she’s comfortable with someone, and she’s a huge fan of catnip! she does not like to be home alone or clothes or items on the floor. she will need someone who can stay home with her. she does use the litter box but if she’s home alone and there’s things on the floor it’s possible she will pee on them. she has anxiety and it’s her way of expressing it. she’s truly a sweetheart, loves naps together, and very food motivated! she does play but mostly while laying down or walking around following a light. she loves scratchers and will take naps on/in them! she’s not much of a talker but she will wait patiently for you to sit or lay with her! she’s just looking for a loving home where at least one human can hang out with her almost all the time!

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
