Story
Mister is a young cat. He is struggling with getting along with humans. Mister can be super sweet and loving, he just gets startled by humans easily. He needs a patient, loving, adopter to help him adjust. He needs someone to give him some love and show him the world isn't scary. His current owner cares about him but she is older and does not have the means to show Mister how to not be scared. We really want him to go to a caring and welcoming home.

Story
Meet Callahan! This handsome fella is a sweet and shy boy that would benefit from a quiet home. He eally likes pets and loves to play! He doesn't seem to enjoy being picked up and is more independent, but he is lovey on his own terms and super playful.   Happy Feet Pet Rescue (Lansing, MI) is a foster-based rescue which means each of our animals are in home environments.  We strive to pair each of our rescue animals up with the most appropriate homes.  Our adoption process involves an adoption phone interview, reference checks, vet checks, an application review, and meet and greets.  We do not adopt any dogs that are expected to be over 50lbs to anyone living in an apartment/condo setting.  We do not believe in declawing cats, and we only adopt our cats as indoor cats.  If you are interested in meeting one of our pets, please complete an adoption application on our website: www.happyfeetpetrescue.com.  We do not respond to the Pet-finder Inquiry emails.   ##1993796##

Story
Loofa is a sweet bratty old man who knows his name and chooses to be naughty anyway. He loves snuggles and sleeping on soft things. He is seven and his birthday is January 25th of 2017. Hes my big ole baby. He loves potty cuddles and his feather toy. He has a sensitive tummy so no people food and not a lot of treats. He will do what he wants to do whether you like it or not. You can tell him no, he will talk back, walk away, and when you arent looking do it again. He is frustrating but a big ole sweetie. I am unfortunately becoming homeless so I cant keep up his quality of life and it breaks my heart to see my old man go but he needs the good life. He prefers to be an only kitty.

Story
Shia was at one time someone's baby. He was dumped in a trailer park, wandering for......a time. A nice lady started feeding him and got him in to be fixed and vetted. He was boney and although, large, not the weight he should be. At first he was shy but started warming up quickly and will take a little time in a new house to do the same, but not that long. He's willing to come out of his shell quickly and you can tell by petting him, he just wants to be loved. His coat is dis shoveled pretty badly, he'd been beating up by other outdoor male cats but now that he's inside full time, he is starting to look better with the nutritious food he's getting and the love, it makes all the difference. He's healthy right now, and we intend on keeping him that way. He has, although been diagnosed with FIV. He wants to be an only cat in the home anyway and he can live a long time with FIV as long life as he's happy and well fed. He has a compromised system from the FIV but these cats can still live many years as long as they are not stressed out and the pet parent is feeding healthy food, keeping them indoors, have a low-key household so not having a metal band practicing in the house and doesn't have people living there who are yelling a lot of the time. A calm home, meaning house, not a apartment, with a catio or in the burbs with a peaceful view of the world would do him wonders. HE IS SUPER AFFECTIONATE, even on day one he wants to rub on his person. We are looking for a non smoking home for him. We know he's too inward to be around kids, we are not sure if he's going to be okay around a dog who is cat friendly or not, but we know he's not a fan of other cats because he's been in scuffles with other males while he was outside. We are learning more day by day. He'd be okay in a home with older children, ages 12 and older. For more information call 517 294 4514 or email me your phone number to marlas2468@yahoo.com

Story
Meet Delaney! This petite female is believed to be mixed with Maine Coon, but is like a miniature version! She loves getting pets, is fully vetted, litter trained, and ready for her forever home. She is good with other cats with proper introductions. ##1993832##

Story
My name is Nero's Twin and I was born 3/1/23 and haven't had much interaction with humans prior to entering the rescue. I am learning, and come out for quiet, treat time. I am beautiful, with a coat like no other, long muzzle and striking pattern. I will need patience and lots of TLC to adjust to human contact and become a housecat. I am a hider when it comes to humans, sometimes giving a quick, gentle hiss letting you know I'm nervous, before going to a comforting, quiet hiding spot. Although I am part Maine Coon, I'm human dependent for food and INSIDE shelter. Although I've been outside, I MUST be a housecat due to my thick, long coat, inability to hunt and survive outside on my own, and skittish ways. **If you are considering adopting me because of my breed, please know it can take up to 6 months for me to get comfortable in a quiet home. I may never be a lap cat, but more of a night crawler who comes out at night while I adjust. If a social lap cat is your goal, I might not be the right fit. I also might surprise you in time and come out more with calm energy, lots of safe hiding spots, and the ability to come along at my own pace. We are a Christian-based organization with a Mission to improve the lives of cats. We specialize in cats that will bond closely, but would otherwise 'age out on the shelf' because they are shy, or need special understanding. Without it, they would never know the love, safety, and comfort of a furever home. *Please do not adopt if you believe in disciplining a cat, including ‘water bottle training’. We are a behavioral rescue and believe in positive redirection to adjust behavior, rather than punishment with cats.*
