Story
Lovey is about 14 years old. My mom has had her for 12 years. She is a friendly cat. She likes to sit by an open window. She sleeps all day on the middle of my mom‘s bed. She is declawed. She likes to sit on your lap. My mom‘s problem is that she recently got a knee replacement and cannot get a cat bite on her leg. Lovey bites when you get in her personal space. She was left 12 years ago in a box outside an animal rescue. My mom always felt that she must’ve been kicked as a young cat, because she overreacts when you come near her. My mom lives in a small rancher and does not always see lovey, and when she passes by too close, Lovey will bite her legs. Her orthopedic surgeon said she cannot have that cat in her house now, because any fight that gets infected puts her new knee replacement at risk. We need an immediate rehoming for Lovey.

Story
Two weeks ago when we had all that rain a neighbors basement was flooding and when they went down to take action they found a litter of 4 kittens. At the time they were about a week old and their eyes weren’t open yet. In order to clean up the water and save the kittens we had to move them out of the basement. Because we care for strays and are working to TNR all of them we knew who the mother was. We worked for hours to try to get her to take them back and had no luck. Into darkness we made the decision to take them in. We had succeeded in raising 4 abandoned previously but they were about 4-5 weeks old…we are in way over our heads. We lost 2 to FKS and the remaining too are having diarrhea and belly problems. We tried to introduce them to two of the nursing strays on our porch (we have a homemade bunk house for them) but I don’t believe they are eating enough. We are worried about their safety and want to get them the best care to ensure they survive!

Story
Birthday: September 7, 2019 If you want to talk about a kitty-lover, no human alive can even come close when you compare them to Kandy!  This girl is a cat girl!  She always has been even when she was a stray!  Kandy was rescued when she was about a year old while she was wandering around Harrisburg during the summer of 2020.  Little did her rescuers know that they didn't just rescue one kitty; they rescued 4!  That's right!  Little Kandy was pregnant with kittens!  Thankfully, they were delivered safely to the delight of their mother.  She was incredibly attentive mama who didn't let them out of her sight!  Once they were all adopted, Skitzer decided it was her turn to find a family! It wasn't easy initially!  The poor girl was very skittish around humans initially.  It took about a year for her foster parents to show her that humans aren't all scary!  Once she became used to them, she began to show them a bit of love too!  It went from hiding behind furniture to being held like a baby!  Maybe not for the longest periods, but she loved every second of it!  She'll only blossom more if she finds a home with people who are interested in socializing her and make her feel safe! However, NOTHING compares to her love for her brethren!  She somehow managed to develop a friendship with other kitties in her foster home though mutual grooming and cuddling!  She may even warm up in her future family home if they have a kitty buddy for her!  Don't worry though!  She's one of the most passive cats you've ever see, and if there is already a "top dog" in the house, she will be submissive towards them. Special kitties and the people who love them deserve special treatment. That’s why Kandy has a watercolor portrait which will be given as our gift to the special person who adopts her.  Kandy’s adoption donation is $115 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing (negative) , spay and microchip.  If you would like more information on Kandy, please contact Jamie at lovingcarecatrescue@gmail.com. If you would like to fill out an online application, please visit https://alovingcarecatrescue.org/adoptionapplicationonline.html Please note:  LCCR does not allow our adopted cats and kittens to be declawed.  All adopted kitties are to be kept as indoor-only pets.If you are interested in adopting this kitty, please fill out the online application at https://alovingcarecatrescue.org/adoptionapplication.html May 5, 2024, 3:17 pm

Story
Birthday: May 10, 2021 One can only compare Petula to that of a flower.  She's a gentle, beautiful being that only attracts people to her.  Though she is a shy and timid girl. you can tell that with enough time and patience that she has the capability to become so much more than that! Petula was found in the streets alongside her mother, Esmae.  They were part of a TNR project, and the trappers discovered that Esmae was still nursing little Petula.  Since they didn't want to spay her while she was still nursing, the trappers made the decision to send the pair to LCCR in the hopes of finding families.  When the two arrived, they were both scared of the new environment.  However, after witnessing her mother stating, "There is NO WAY we are going back out there!" Petula knew that this was the best option for them!  Petula's mother would care for her as well as other kitties who didn't have a mother to care for them.  She knew that if she ever found a family, she would hope she would be the only cat.  She may have gotten along with some of her foster siblings, but she prefers to walk at her own pace. Though she is a bit shy and timid around humans, we believe that Petula is more than capable of becoming a great kitty for someone.  Why do you ask?  Well, there are a few reasons!  For one, this girl is incredibly smart!  Her name might be Petula, but she knows her nickname, Bee-Bee!  She will acknowledge that you are calling for her!  Second, she knows how to hold a conversation!  She may not inherited the talkative nature from her mother, but she will try and make an effort to ask how you are doing!  Three, she's sweeter than sugar!  There isn't a mean bone in her body, and she's more than happy to share it with you if you give her the chance!  Though she might be scared of new people, she doesn't run and hide.  She wants to give them a chance!  Petula enjoys the quiet life, but really, if you were raised in a place where there's nothing but kitties wanting to play, you might treasure the peace and quiet once in awhile too!   Petula's adoption donation is $115 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay.
