Kittens and cats in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania

Acquired Vera through a humane society in Illinois when I lived there. She will be 7 years old October 17. She is very attentive. Loves attention all of the time. Will be in your lap or on the back of the couch touching your head. She is also very food motivated. She is playful and will entertain herself if you put toys in a basket. I travel a lot and am not able to provide her with the attention she needs. She has never been in a household with dogs. She has been with other cats before but is very meek and passive and will get picked on easily. Looking for a calm household with no dogs or other cats with an owner who can give her the attention she needs. Would do great with a senior or someone who is looking for a companion cat. Comes with two large cat towers, elevated food dish, and cat water fountain.

Birthday: January 1, 2025 Catalina is a sweet, energetic girl with a playful spirit who is learning that life can be so much more than simply surviving. Catalina came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation that was discovered after her owner passed away. More than 40 cats and kittens were left behind in a home that was quickly becoming unlivable and heavily infested with fleas. After such a difficult start, it's understandable that Catalina is still very skittish and unsure of people. She's going to need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time—but once she gives you her heart, you'll discover just how special she is. Catalina absolutely loves to be petted. Getting her to purr is the key to winning her over! Once you get those purrs started, she doesn't want the attention to stop. She may be nervous at first, but those happy purrs are a wonderful reminder of the sweet, affectionate cat hiding underneath her initial shyness. Catalina is also discovering the joys of being a playful cat. She's energetic, curious, and having fun learning what all those wonderful toys are for. She enjoys chasing after her feline friends and has plenty of energy to burn. One of her favorite activities is simply running laps around the room, because sometimes a girl just needs to zoom! And then there's wet food. Catalina LOVES wet food. In fact, if she thinks everyone else is getting some and she's being left out, she'll go absolutely ballistic to make sure you know about it! She has no trouble making her opinions known when something important—like dinner—is happening. Catalina does well with her cat friends and enjoys having them around for playtime and companionship. A feline friend may be especially helpful as she continues building confidence and learning that her new world is safe. Because Catalina is still very skittish and learning to trust, she needs a calm home without young children. She would do best with older, respectful children ages 13 and up who understand that she may need time to feel comfortable and will allow her to approach at her own pace. Catalina will need someone who is willing to be patient and let her progress at her own pace. She may not be the cat who runs up to greet you on day one, but earning her trust will be incredibly rewarding. Every purr, every request for pets, and every playful zoom around the room is a little glimpse of the wonderful cat she's becoming. Catalina has so much potential. Meet Arabis, who came to the rescue by way of a SNAP volunteer who was doing a Trap-Neuter-Release effort in Lancaster and found her wandering around with her two brothers (Athos and Artemus), and immediately saw how friendly she was and rescued her. Arabis is a purring machine. She is initially shy when meeting new people, but once she is comfortable with you she will melt into your lap and just loves to be petted and fussed over. She loves playing with her siblings and enjoys just spending time on your lap and loves Churu. She would do well with a friendly kitty in her forever home that she can play with. Arabis currently resides with her foster parents in East Berlin, PA and is anxiously awaiting to be adopted into her forever home. She has been fixed and gotten all of her important vaccinations, so is ready to come into your life and heart. Birthdays: May 15, 2026 Before you ask, no, these kittens are not retired armed forces who are trying to become rich by racing greyhounds.  Though they are hoping that they can hit it big by finding the right family! Gus Brown and Midnight Brewster were outside cats who were part of a TNR project.  When they were recovering, they seemed to strike up a relationship with their human rescuers. They were curious about their saviors, especially after they would deliver food to them several times a day!  Knowing they would make a great pair of pets for a wonderful family, the rescuers brought the pair to LCCR. Midnight and Gus are a bit on the shy side. With patience, care, and love, they began to trust the humans who took them from outside.  The rescuers were actually a bit shocked at how quickly they warmed up to them! Based on how they act, they will always be a little hesitant around new people.  Despite this, the boys have warm personalities that would melt your heart once they get to know you. Their foster does not believe they would do well around young children due to their fast movements and unpredictability. However, they do get along well with other kitties!  The colony they were once a part of had a dog on the property, but we aren't sure how they would fair against their canine counterparts. Midnight and Gus are great with their litter boxes, and they have started learning just how wonderful human affection can really be! Even now, if you pet them, they will sound their purr alarms! With great patience comes great love, and Midnight and Gus can't wait to meet their furever family! Blind in one eye, partial blindness in other Birthday: May 1, 2026 Though he may view the world a bit differently than most, Popeye is a one-of-a-kind kitty that could charm the pants off of you! LCCR was contacted by a local vet office wondering if we could foster this handsome guy, and of course, we said yes! He is visually impaired, only able to see a little out of one eye.  The other is completely blind, and he can only see light and some movement out of his working eye.  This may deter some from adopting him, but we can tell you why we think you should! First, Popeye only asks for a couple of requests.  He's more comfortable knowing where his stuff is.  There shouldn't be too much rearranging; otherwise, he'll get confused.  As long as he knows where his food bowl, bed, and toys are, he's a happy boy.   The other request is that his new home has a kitty companion for him.  Having a little friend with him can make it easier for him to adjust to his new environment.  Plus, they can show him the ropes, making it an easier transition! He has a recommendation to boot! He has a best friend at the rescue named Goose who he loves to death! Why not adopt two kitties and make your life twice as exciting? And that's it! Another reason why we think you should adopt this boy is because of his personality! He's a friend to all! He loves his foster kitty buddies, and he's even befriended the resident dogs! And humans? Oh, boy! He's a cuddle monster and loves people! Birthday: March 19, 2025   Dragonfly was in dire need of medical attention when she was discovered as a baby. She was caught during a TNR mission and taken straight to the vet for an evaluation.  Her eyes were severely infected, and she suffered from an upper respiratory infection.  Thankfully, after antibiotics were administered to her, she's fully recovered and much happier for it!  However, one eye was damaged to the point where she has limited vision.  However, that doesn't stop her from living life to the fullest!    As you can imagine, Dragonfly is a bit shy and skittish, but she has improved since her foster began to work with her  It may take some time for her to fully trust other humans, but she's on the right track! As long as her new family understands of her nervous behavior, she'll grow more attached to them. She doesn't like being held and is getting more used to being petted. In fact sometimes she rolls for belly rubs.    Dragonfly does have some spunk in her too, surprisingly! She loves to play with her other feline buddies, it doesn't matter if they are big or little  It is best that she has another kitty friend either to go home with her or one at home that can take her under their paw and show her the new home and life. She covets toys like they are the holy grail! The only thing better than toys is food!
