He is an excellent shepherd of humans, preferring that everyone in the home be in approximately the same location so he can monitor properly, and he has turned into quite a lap cat! He does not understand that humans possess something called “personal space,” but he is quite insistent that his own space be respected: he will happily snuggle all evening and all night long, but he will tolerate only a couple of pets before he gets nippy. He is quite social and will come out and visit with even large groups of people as long as folks sit down, and he is very well behaved at the vet.Although he is a mature gentleman, Hunnter is still moderately active and enjoys multiple play sessions daily. “Ambush predator” is his favourite mode: he loves to hide under a blanket draped over a footstool and then pounce on the toy as it passes. He will also pounce on other things – like your feet – from this position if no toys are available. Wand toys with strings or fur are his favourite (not feathers), and he also likes balls or other things that roll, especially if they make noise.Hunnter has food sensitivities that make him itchy, which makes him scratch and pluck his fur, so he needs to eat a specific food.
