Found huddled together inside a tire that was slowly filling with water, their future was uncertain. Their mother was nearby, so the kittens were dried off and left with a cozy outdoor shelter and warming pad, hoping she would return to care for them. The next day, however, it became clear the little ones needed help. All four had developed upper respiratory infections, and despite medication and careful monitoring while momma watched from a distance, she never returned to feed them. At what appeared to be nearly two weeks old, with their eyes fully open, two of the kittens weighed only 4.4 ounces, about the size of newborns. After weeks of round-the-clock bottle feeding, medication, and lots of love, these tiny storm survivors have transformed into happy, healthy kittens. Now, Nimbus, the handsome black male; Gale and Rayne, the beautiful calico sisters; and Hail-lee, the charming tuxedo girl, spend their days doing what kittens do best—playing hard, chasing toys, seeking attention, and eagerly showing up for every meal and treat.
