Poundcake arrived in his foster home as a quiet observer, the sort of kitten who preferred to take in the world before jumping into it. It didn’t take long, though, for his true personality to shine. Beneath that thoughtful first impression is a cheerful, friendly, thoroughly easygoing little cat who seems perfectly content just being near his people.
Most days you’ll find him alongside his sibling and constant companion, Shortcake. The two share a gentle rhythm — a bit of soft wrestling, a pause to watch the room together, then settling down shoulder-to-shoulder as if they planned it that way. Poundcake especially enjoys the quieter moments: a hand reaching down to pet him, someone talking to him while he looks up with those warm gold eyes, or curling beside his foster family to be included in everyday life.
At just four and a half months old, this Turkish Van and Domestic Shorthair mix already has the hallmark charm of the breed. His plush white coat is accented by a small gray mark atop his head, and his relaxed nature makes him feel more like a longtime companion than a busy kitten. He enjoys playtime, but he never demands it — he prefers connection, closeness, and comfort.
Poundcake is an indoor-only kitten who thrives in a calm, loving environment where he can settle in and bond. He is litter box trained and adapts easily to routine. His affectionate temperament suggests he would do well with another friendly cat and with gentle, respectful children who want a kitten that genuinely enjoys interaction. Although he hasn’t met dogs yet, his laid-back nature gives him a good chance of adjusting with slow introductions.
He is healthy, neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and FeLV/FIV negative, litter box trained, and ready for a home of his own.
Poundcake’s adoption fee is $185, which directly supports the work of Hill County Paw Pals, a volunteer-run rescue. The fee helps provide veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, food, supplies, and foster support for animals in need. It also allows the rescue to continue taking in cats and kittens from uncertain situations, giving them safety, treatment, and the opportunity to be carefully matched with loving families.
