Story
Brody is a very good boy. He is a very healthy 60 lb Catahoula Leopard Dog. He is very smart, listens and learns quickly. He is great in the house, always asks to go outside and doesn't get into anything. He gets along with other animals. He's very excited around new people but relaxes quick. He is a Catahoula Leopard Dog so he is a working dog, meaning very high energy and needs room to run and a fenced yard. He's not a picky eater. He is a great protector. My neighbors dog got into my backyard and started to bark at me. Brody stepped in front of me and the tail stopped wagging. He did not growl or bark, he was just ready to do so. I was very impressed and grateful. My husband passed away last year and I broke my back a few years ago and can't work anymore so I had to move to my sister's. Her son is allergic and I cannot keep him please help me find a loving home because he definitely deserves it.

Story
🐾 Meet Atlas – Our Longest-Waiting Adventurer 🐾 Atlas is a 4-year-old Catahoula mix who has been in the rescue program for almost 4 years, and we truly don’t understand how this incredible dog is still waiting for his forever home. Atlas is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He is cat-friendly, but he can be a bit much for them since he always wants to play—so he’d do best in a cat-free home or one with a very tolerant, confident cat. This guy is active, athletic, and always ready for an adventure. Walks, outings, and staying busy are his jam, so he’ll need an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. Atlas does have some separation anxiety, but it is very manageable and continues to improve with routine and structure. And here’s the really cool part—Atlas has competed in THREE OneWorld Canine Biathlons and absolutely crushed it, even placing 2nd in one of his races! 🏅 This dog has both brains and brawn. 📍 Fostered in Huntsville, AL 🐶 Good with dogs 🐱 Cats with conditions 🏃 Adventure-ready & athletic Atlas has waited long enough. He’s loyal, driven, and ready to be someone’s best adventure buddy. If you’re looking for a dog who will truly be your partner in life, Atlas is your guy. 👉 Apply to adopt at www.forrescue.net Rescue: Friends of Rescue 💙

Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.Patrick is a 2½-year-old male American Bulldog/Catahoula mix. He was brought to the shelter in the middle of the night, tied to the front porch post. Patrick has a striking dilute light tan coat with darker brown merle markings. He is very handsome, with impressively large ears that seem almost comically alert! Patrick weighs 66 pounds, making him a strong, sturdy companion. He is playful, energetic, and loves romping in the fenced yard. A big fan of toys, Patrick is ultimately a gentle giant—calm, well-behaved, and affectionate. He enjoys giving unexpected little kisses and would likely do well in a home with both dogs and children.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.*****August 17, 2026, 1:55 pm
