Pet Description: Arrow is a three-year old female Catahoula looking mix, 40 lbs with the best smile! She is a bit shy at first but warms up quickly and loves head scratches. She was positive for heartworms when she came to us but completed her treatment in August and is good to go. Of course keeping her on monthly prevention is an absolute so she never gets them again. Arrow is great with other dogs, loves everyone. DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter). NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Sue Sue! This sweet girl was saved from a bad situation where she spent her life on a chain and having puppies! Thankfully, an amazing foster stepped up and this girl has been moved to a foster home and she’s adjusting beautifully to the indoor good life. She’s a gorgeous red Merle Catahoula mix. She’s great with all size dogs. She loves people and is just as sweet as they come. She will complete her vetting 9/25/24 and will then be adoption ready! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
