Story

Meet Alfie. While his DNA is very rich in dog breeds (18 actually), his appearance is quite unique, with two breeds as the main standouts. His face and ear structure look mostly Pitbull, but his "glass eyes", height, thick body (about 65 lbs), and mottled coat are distinct characteristics of his distant Catahoula Leopard dog relatives. Alfie loves a good cuddle and is the best hugger. Although he can be a little stand-offish around strangers at first, he warms up quickly to people of all ages. He does well with children and with other dogs that do not have as dominant of a personality as his own. He loves hikes, exploring, runs/walks, chasing balls and frisbees, playing tug, and chewing on toys. He will dig from boredom if he is left alone outside for long periods of time without sufficient engagement. He knows a few commands but usually prefers to perform for treats. Alfie is an affectionate, active dog that needs an equally loving and active family to meet his emotional and physical needs. Petunia is a 18 month old that we believe maybe a Lab/ Catahoula/ Hound Mix! She is white with patches of blue/ grey merle! She is stunning! She only weighs 40lbs but does need to gain a bit. She knows how to sit and is super friendly! This girl was found by someone and then left with us and we are hoping to find her a forever home. She has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and is heartworm negative! Her adoption fee is $100. INCOMING!! &#226&#156&#168 These little cuties were dumped at a local shelter at just 3 weeks old. The shelter found some awesome fosters to bottle feed and now that they are weaned they will be transferred to our fosters tomorrow. These babies appear to be Catahoula mixes. They are 7 weeks old and around 5 lbs. They are sweet and playful little things. They are very well socialized and would make great family pets.  They will be ready in two short weeks after they have their second round of vaccines and they are altered. Get your apps in on these cuties! We will be reserving them to the perfect forever homes.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. They were bottle fed and then transferred to us once weaned. They are 8 weeks now and thriving. We believe they are Catahoula/Plott Hound mixes. Heinz is too cute with those ears. His foster said this litter is the best she’s ever had as they are quiet, calm and so very loving. They are great with all and perfect for any house hold.
