Story
Callie is a cute five-year-old Catahoula Leopard dog/ retriever mix. She is looking for a new home, because her family lost their home. They were going to move in with family, but there was no room for Callie. We are all hoping that Callie will find a new home soon. Callie has all of her vaccinations, she is heartworm negative, she has a microchip, and she has been spayed. Callie’s owner said that she was fine with other dogs and kids too! She was not too fond of cats! She loves to be both inside and outside and she is kennel trained! It sounds like Callie would be a wonderful addition to any family that liked to play outside during the day and then cuddle up inside for the evening!!

Story
Brody is a very good boy. He is smart, listens and learns quickly. He is great in the house, always asks to go outside and doesn't get into anything. He gets along with other animals. He's very excited around new people but relaxes quick. He is a Catahoula Leopard Dog so he is a working dog, meaning very high energy and needs room to run and a fenced yard. He's not a picky eater but gets protective of his food around other animals (not with people)

Story
Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.  Violet is a sweet 2‑month‑old black and white female Lab/Catahoula mix is already winning hearts wherever she goes. Violet is expected to grow into a large, beautiful adult dog, but right now she’s all puppy charm and cuddles. She’s incredibly sweet, loves people, and does wonderfully with children and other dogs. Violet is the kind of pup who wants to be part of the family—whether that means playtime in the yard or snuggling up after a long day.  Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75.  All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications.  You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.*****May 16, 2026, 4:10 pm

Story
Squishy is one big fellow! He is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix that is about a year old. He was picked up by a kind stranger who found him in the middle of the street with another dog, but no owners! They came to the shelter so they could safely wait for their owner to claim them. As it turned out the other dog was adopted from another shelter and was returned, but no one stepped forward for Squishy! Well he waited his allotted time and he is now ready for adoption. Squishy has all his of his vaccinations, he has a microchip, and he has been neutered. One little problem did show up on Squishy’s health check up. He is heartworm positive, but he is not worried, because treatment has already been set up and he is ready to start! Now what would be amazing is if someone would step up and foster Squishy through his treatment and then adopt him. Gee, I wonder if that might happen for this seventy-six pound hunk of love!
