We adopted Cooper from the shelter back in 2018. They estimated him to be five years old at that time. We have children, cats, other dogs, and had chickens in the yard for a long time. He has always been fine with them. He did have an incident with my niece back in 2018 where she jumped on him and he snapped at her. He has always been fine with my kids but we have always kept him away from guests as a precaution even though nothing happened further.I have gone back to work and it’s getting harder to give him what he needs for attention. He is house trained and knows to go outside to use the bathroom. He can show food aggression at times and will growl. He has come a long way with that.

Are you looking for a high energy but super sweet tripod to make your life better? We have her! Meet SweetTart! This adorable girl was found back in January by board member Kaitlyn at her job which is no place for a pup to be running around! She is estimated to be 2-3 years old! She weighs in at 54lbs Once she was lured out of the woods, she was absolutely terrified but knew we were there to help. We quickly realized that her front leg was basically one giant open wound with bone exposed. It was swollen, infected, and painful as all get up. Based on her sagging teets we think she was overbred and then dumped when injured. She has definitely had a lot of babies. But yet she wagged her tail and smiled at us. We got her to the vet where they said she needed the leg amputated ASAP. She was tested for heartworms and vaccinated that day as well. She is heartworm negative and UTD on vaccines. She had the leg amputated 4 days after her initial vet visit and oh my god you would think she still has all 4 legs! She is so fast it does not slow her down one bit! She loves to play and she stays close in the yard. She has pretty good leash manners but does pull a little bit when excited. She does good with other dogs and seems unbothered by cats. SweetTart was spayed yesterday and given a 3 years rabies vaccine! She will be looking for a forever home once she is healed up. SweetTart is with foster and is doing well with training. She would love to be your new best friend!

Story
Desi is a sweet 6 year old boy. He has a very calm demeanor and is fantastic with kids and good with other pets too, once adapted. He is good on a leash, loves a car ride, and listens well. We have had Desi since he was a year old. Desi has developed a high separation anxiety. We are a small-kid family always on the go and we are no longer the best fit to take care of Desi the way he needs. He needs an owner who can be with him all the time, possibly having another pet friend, and can love him a way we no longer can provide.

Roscoe Peco Train is a great dog! He will be 1 year old in October. Roscoe loves to be outside, running and playing. He enjoys snuggles and long lasting bones for chewing. Roscoe is crate trained, but has not grasped the concept of the bed or cushion not being a chew toy as well. Roscoe is very sweet and gentle. He is high energy, but calms quickly with chest pats and belly rubs. We simply don't have the time he deserves for care, play and training due to unforseen changes in schedules. Roscoe needs a happy, loving home where he can get lots of outdoor play time, long walks and attention. In the photos Roscoe is pictured with his bestie, the neighbors dog.

Desi is a wonderful dog. He truly is the best behaved dog I have ever owned great with kids, dogs, any animal (except a lizard but he hasn’t been able to catch one yet) walks with leash and with a watchful eye off leash. However he has separation anxiety and while he is easy to take anywhere it simply isn’t possible in our lives to take him everywhere with us. He would need someone that is home a lot to be with him or someone with room for him to roam with a companion
