Story
We believe he could be a pure bred Catahoula Leopard Dog! And words used to describe the breed describe sweet Ric perfectly: inquisitive, intelligent, energetic, gentle, independent and LOVING. Ric is highly food motivated and is willing to learn anything quickly for a treat! He’s good on a leash, and due to his hound nature would do best with a fenced in yard— he can be a wanderer. He surprisingly passed our cat test with flying colors! He was so gentle and even submissive to the grown cat and 5 kittens we have. Though he is extremely gentle, he could use some manners! He may be prone to counter surfing if he ever got the opportunity, but with work he’d make an amazing house dog! He’s great with every person he meets, and every dog so far. Since he’s a hound, he may would chase pocket pets, as it’s his nature. Ric would make a great running partner, couch potato, or anything as long as he gets love!

Story
Butler came to us after his owners recognized he was no longer a good fit for them. He has a lot of energy and a HUGE personality. He's fun to work with, goofy, and has shown he can socialize, with supervision, with other dogs. He should be the only dog in the home, as he will need structure and consistent training to thrive. He's had great success in a home setting with a trainer, living among a pack of dogs. He is e-collar trained, housebroken, crate trained, does excellent in a home setting, and has great leash skills. He will be a wonderful companion in the right home and has the potential to be a wonderful canine companion with structure and leadership. Butler has the potential to be a wonderful adventure buddy, but experience with powerful breeds is an absolute must. Butler does have some behavioral complications and will need strong and reasonable leadership. His trainer and handler can discuss this in detail with any interested party. With a lack of structure, he can begin to take advantage of handlers in the home. Starting off on the right foot is very important to Butler's success, and his trainer would be happy to do follow-ups to make sure he is successful long-term. We are looking for a handler who is ready for his high energy, but very trainable, personality. Please call Pet Rendezvous at 603-447-3435 to book a phone call with Emilie Swett, his trainer and foster, if you have any questions.

Story
Hello, my name is Cobra! I am a very energetic guy who loves running around in the dog park, and going for hikes. I haven't had much of a chance to hang out with other dogs yet, but with a proper introduction and another high energy dog it may be a possibility. Due to my high energy, teenagers and adults would be the best fit in a new household. I do not have experience living with cats but I would probably chase them for fun.

These pups are in Portland, Maine too!

Story
We saw sweet Ginny on Facebook. She was a stray that ended up in a high kill shelter in Virginia. Shortly after she arrived she gave birth to 4 puppies. The shelter had no idea that she was pregnant because she was nothing but skin and bones. We knew we somehow had to get her here to Tennessee so we put our thinking caps on and a lot of wonderful volunteers drove her to our pick up spot in southern VA where our regular transporter picked her and the babies up on his way back to Nashville. We met them in Nashville at 1 AM and drove the family 100 miles back to the rescue. We knew Ginny was young, possibly still a pup herself and our vet confirmed that she was only 11 months at the time of the puppy's birth. Her pups have all been adopted and now it's Ginny's turn! Walker Hounds are very high energy dogs and can be a little stubborn so make sure you research the breed before you make the choice to adopt. We insist on a fenced yard for her so she can have room to free run and enjoy the rest of her life. These dogs are the number one dumped off breed as their owners will desert them if they don't hunt the way they want them too! We have several of them here at the rescue for that very reason. They are fun loving couch potatoes and will bring you many years of joy and happiness! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

Story
My name is Winnie and I am anything but an 'old lady'.   I may be 7 years old and carrying a few extra pounds....63 to be exact, but I am a sharp cookie who is ready to help you drive around in your car and I will even stay quiet and not be a backseat driver.  I love car rides and I am ready to go at the drop of a hat.  I won't bore you with the rough circumstances I have come from.  What I really want to talk about with you is how sweet and loving and devoted I will be if you make me your girl.  You see, I am a breed that not a lot of people know to consider or go looking for.  I am a beautiful, mature, quiet Treeing Walker Coonhound.  When you look at the video attached to my post, you will see that I bark less than the girl dog who lives at the foster home permanently.  I say my say and I am brief.  I really know my house manners and I am just perfectly happy laying around in the kitchen if you are there, or the sofa if you are in the room, or even at the feet of my wonderful foster mom while she works in her home office.  I am the easiest companion dog you will ever find.  I am around two adorable children who are 10 years and younger.  I love them and they think I am pretty terrific too.  I have an idea.  If you are a retired couple and you want a walking buddy, then choose me!  If you want a dog that you can trust your grandchildren of any age, then choose me! If you want a calm, easy going dog that is not hyper or excessively fast energy, then choose me.  If you want a dog that you don't to groom like those designer purse dogs, then choose me because I can take a bath in the backyard when it is warm and I will love it.  And if you want a dog that will wag her tail with all the love and devotion that I have in my body, just to show you I am happy you are home, CHOOSE ME!  I want to live with people who like to sit in the Lazyboy and watch TV, people who walk around their yard and enjoy the beauty that God brings every Spring.  I want to belong to special people who love dogs and would never run them off with mean words.  I know there is someone out there who will love me just the way I am.  CHOOSE ME!  Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 4, 2024, 9:54 pm

Story
Our sweet Abby is just a joy to be around. She came from a high kill shelter in South Carolina. We actually saw her on Facebook when they were begging for someone to get her out of there. She was 24 hours away from being euthanized. There are so very many stray hound dogs and the shelters run out of room so they only stay for so long before they are put to sleep. It's very sad. Abby is the sweetest, most loving girl that you will ever meet. She just loves everybody! She is a full blooded Walker hound, approximately 2 years young. She came with heart worms but we treated her and now she is heart worm free. She is also crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready for her forever home! could that be you? PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $500
