Story
Meet Katya!  She recently gave birth to eight puppies. At just 18 months old and about 50 pounds, Katya is still very much a puppy herself. After doing an amazing job raising her babies, she’s ready to enjoy life, have fun, and be spoiled in a loving forever home. Katya loves to play! She happily chases balls, grabs toys and zooms around the yard, and spends hours playing with her terrier foster sister. She also enjoys exploring and investigating everything around her. Like many young dogs, she may occasionally stroll by with a slipper in her mouth, just to remind you she’s still a puppy at heart. She is also incredibly affectionate. Katya loves curling up next to her people on the couch for pets and snuggles, or simply lying nearby wherever her family is gathered. She wants to be part of the action and close to the people she loves. She isn’t a big barker. If someone approaches the house, she’ll let you know, but otherwise she’s generally quiet and easygoing. At night, she sleeps peacefully in her crate and goes in willingly without fuss. She has learned to use the doggie door at her foster home and has been accident-free since figuring out the routine.Katya gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playing with her foster sister. She has also spent time around young children and genuinely enjoys being around people. Because of some possible hardships earlier in life, she may take a little extra time to warm up to men. However, once trust is established, she is affectionate and loving. She now happily seeks out her foster dad for scratches and pets. One of her sweetest qualities is how attentively she listens when you talk to her. She gazes into your eyes as if she understands every word. And she definitely knows how cute she is when she gently places a paw on your arm or in your lap—something she does often and always melts hearts.Katya is a gentle, loving, joyful girl who deserves a happy ending after spending so much of her young life caring for others. Now it’s her turn to be cared for, loved, and cherished. If you would like to give Katya the Cinderella story she deserves, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let us know where you live. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 24, 2026, 3:36 pm

Kent Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix Age/Sex: 5 year+/-, NM Weight: 52 lbs Medical: Up to Date and vaccinations, spayed, wormed, microchipped, HW- Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: 10+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: New Hampshire Kent is just a buddle of love! He is like the guy that wants to say “hi” to everyone he meets when he is out and about! AT home he is just as friendly, but if someone comes to the door or it is time for the mailman you will know it! He has a VERY, deep bark that might surprise them and make them think twice about lingering, but he is only warning you that someone has entered the zone! This fella LOVES playing fetch. He is an attention hog, and you can never give him enough! He also loves his food, so if you want a little extra just show him a yummy and maybe he will mow the yard! He does enjoy going for car rides, however if you are going off-roading leave him home (unless you want to get your vehicle detailed). Be prepared, he likes to ride shotgun on these trips, so tell the hubby and the kids they have to sit in the back. He is a very all-around happy boy who is always wagging his tail! After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family. If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered. Kent’s adoption donation is $500 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and Spay/Neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter, then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and $100 deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.

Story
Name: Buzz Breed: Catahoula/Australian Shepherd Mix Age/Sex: 1.5 years; Male Weight: approximately 50lbs Medical: up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped Cat Friendly: No Dog Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: 10+ Crate Trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Location: Alabama Buzz was abandoned before going to a high kill shelter where he was also risking not making out, which is amazing given just how sweet of a pup he is! This is something that is important to remember, shelters are so stressful for these dogs that they do not always show their best sides as they are just pushed beyond what they can handle. Since he was broke out from the pokie, we find that he is truly a happy-go-lucky baby. He does not bark in his crate. He is very independent; however, he simply has to say “hello” to everyone he meets! Which includes giving hugs and kisses. He loves barking at people and dogs when he sees them for the first time. And unfortunately, sometimes jumping! He loves jumping. This we are working on. He prefers not to share his crate or food with dogs. He is not food or toy aggressive towards people. He loves playing with other dogs, but he does love his private stash of belongings in his crib. So, he just asks for respect. He loves treats and toys. He has A LOT of energy and is a touch hyper. He loves walking and hiking. He does pull slightly when walking and is learning how to walk nicely. Buzz is a wonderful dog if you need a buddy in the car. He loves traveling in the vehicle with you and is the best co-pilot you could ever ask for! Buzz would be wonderful for an active family that loves hiking, climbing, and traveling. Breed: Catahoula MixDOB:  08/23 +/-estWeight: 52lbsMedical: Up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchippedCat Friendly: Unknown.Dog Friendly: Yes, although he will run and jump on other dogs as soon as he meets them, in an attempt to play.Kid Friendly: Yes.House Trained: Yes.Crate Trained: He does not like to be crated and sleeps with his people.Location: Clayton, NCPatch is a strikingly handsome fellow, as you will see in his photos. He is 52lbs, two and a half years old, neutered, and very loving. He is fully house trained, up to date on all vaccines, and has a microchip. He gets along well with other dogs and people of all ages.He does not like to be crated and sleeps with his people and enjoys cuddling on the couch after a hard day of play. Patch is high energy – he will eagerly ask you to throw his Kong for him and gets the zoomies when you do. He also loves his chew toys, with filled marrow bones being his favorite. He knows sit/stay/place but needs consistent reinforcement, and his leash training is in progress. We are also working on helping him understand the concept of personal space, as he will jump up for attention and climb on your lap without invitation. Because of this and his high energy level, he will do best with an active, experienced dog owner who can continue his training, give him plenty of exercise, and has a fenced yard with space for him to run around (or a playmate for him!). This is actually why we are rehoming him – our family and work situations have changed, and we can’t give him the time and energy he needs. If you are interested in moving forward, please click at the link below:CRNE Adoption Application:https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rjvYvkyGRug-gnCPcHFB49ksrZlQNlYQddGnkoVvNNA/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1Z3LWcB1HW2pncs-N64t1xdlD6Fm9P137xk6MErsLOE4ObXQ9erCAk-nM&edit_requested=trueOnce your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. She has been taking care of them for us and nursing them into responsible pups and back into good health, it now time for them to have homes all of their own! We will be doing “foster with intent to adopt”, with these pups and what that means is that you will be able to foster them for at least two weeks to make sure they are a good fit for your home before you commit a 100% to adoption.  If you find in that time frame that they are not the right dog for you, then we ask that you continue to foster them until we have another adopter or one of our other fosters opens and we can move them. Story
Breed: Catahoula Leopard HoundDOB:  9 years +/-est; FemaleWeight: 55lbsMedical: Up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped; allergiesCat Friendly: NoDog Friendly: Ok with Males, struggles with females (minimal interaction with dogs over the last 4 years)Kid Friendly: Ages 12+House Trained: Yes.Crate Trained: YesLocation: North Yarmouth, MENahla loves food, hikes, the outdoors, getting her butt scratched, and protecting the property by barking at deer, turkeys, and other four-legged animals. She loves her people – family, friends, neighbors, etc. She is a silly girl who is either running around like crazy, sunbathing, or taking a nap.She has the tendency to get the zoomies when she’s excited/has a lot of energy, which is adorable, but can sometimes have a challenge controlling her body. She can be jumpy, licks faces, and gives love nips, but listens well when given the proper cues (knee up and hand in the face), and is guided by treats. She will scratch doors if she is locked up for an extended period of time or wants to eat dinner or breakfast. Nahla loves her crate and will put herself in there if she wants to feel safe.Nahla struggles with other female dogs. She has never attacked another dog but will stand still and tall and show her teeth if they approach her. She has demonstrated that she plays well with other male dogs but hasn’t interacted with many dogs over the past 4 years. She has been a farm dog for quite some time (no collar, minimal leash walks, no electric fence). Nahla is great with property lines. She can be let outside with no oversight and stays on the property. We used long lining when we moved to our property in 2019 and has understood her territory ever since.Nahla has never done anything wrong and deserves a great home. She’s going to do best on a rural property where she has freedom to roam. She would likely struggle in a small home/urban setting.
