Story
UPDATE!!  Meet Tenny aka Murphy! This boy was originally adopted as a small puppy but sadly there was a death in the family and now he is needing a new home. Murphy is a gorgeous blue Merle catahaoula mix. He’s 7 months and 30 lbs. He’s a play and happy puppy. Great with other animals and kids. He’s doing well with training for his age but of course  is still young and will need additional training and attention. He’s very eager to please and doesn’t mind his crate. He loves the water and being outdoors. Murphy is utd, neutered and ready for his forever home.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
UPDATE!! Meet Pasie and Pippie!! These sweet girls were bottle fed and turned over to the shelter when they were ready for new homes. We pulled them to safety and they have settled into foster care! They appear to be dachshund/Terrier/Catahoula Mixes. Pippie is long and short like a dachshund and only 4 lbs but is colored and has the head shape of the Catahoula. Pasie is built like a Catahoula and is around 7 lbs. The girls are 10 weeks now. We believe they will be smaller-medium sized adults. They are sweet and very well socialized. They will be adoption ready 5/1/24. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit.
