Story
This is Shema. She was born on March 28, 2022. I have adopted her from a close friend of mines who didn't realize her dog was pregnant. Shema is very loving and a good dog. She is also playful. Shema's breed is unknown to me but I was told that she has Catahoula in her, but please be mindful that I'm unaware of her breed but she's a mixed breed. She has her rabies shot and she is microchipped. Do to my busy schedule I am unable to take care of her anymore. I would love for her to be with a family that will love her and take care of her as much as I did.

Story
Drago came to us from a hoarding situation. He is a calm, loving boy who knows sit and paw. He does tend to guard the people who loves so anyone interested in adopting him will need a low traffic household and get him a trainer.

Story
Buddy is a two year old neutered catahoula/dalmation mix. Buddy is good with kids of all ages, and lives with a 12 year old boy. Buddy is crate trained, sleeps in a crate at night. Buddy is good with other dogs and cats, but wants to play, so younger animals would be best for him. Buddy needs a high fenced in yard, and needs a strong handler for walks. He needs help with leash training, he is a puller. His current mom cannot handle walking him, hence why she is re-homing him. He would do great with an active family or a runner. He loves to play catch and run. He loves car rides. He loves to be around people. If you think Buddy would be a good fit for your home, please email Paget at paget27@yahoo.com. This is a courtesy post!

Story
This puppy has just arrived! They have come to us on transport from a shelter partner, were found as stray, or surrendered to our care by an owner. Puppies require a significant amount of structure, routine, time, patience, and training to learn how to behave properly in a home. The first few months of having a puppy is a critical time to establish boundaries and help your puppy understand what they can expect from you and what you expect from them. Remember, puppies aren't born knowing how to live in a human's world, it is up to you to teach them how to make good decisions in a positive and caring manner. The more positive interactions they have in their first year of life will set them up for better behavior in the future. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Dog Name: Boomer Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog  Sex: M Age: 6mos Weight: 35lbs but could stand to gain a few! Medical Needs: Upcoming neuter appointment on 11/14 in Georgetown, DE at BVSPCA.Keeping this appointment is a condition of adoption. It will not be moved, so if you’re not willing to keep it, please do not apply. Applicants must either live in Delaware, or within 1 hour of where the appointment is scheduled to be eligible to adopt this dog Housebroken: In progress! Boomer holds it all night in his crate like a good boy and immediately goes when outside, but he's had a few tinkles in the house. He just needs some practice, he hasn't learned to tell us he needs to go but he's a smart guy so should get there soon! Crate trained: Yes! He may sing to you a tiny bit when first placed in but settles quick. He sleeps all night and will let you know if you're late for his breakfast in the morning Good in the car: Yes, he's only been in the car with me once or twice but was a gentleman both times. Good on a leash: In progress, he's a bit of a puller but redirects easily. Should learn with practice as he's still a puppy.  Energy level: Puppy! Play hard nap hard. Need a fenced in yard: No, as long as he'll get enough exercise in other ways. Dog Friendly: Yes!If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, but he would LOVE it.  Cat Friendly? Yes, but playful. My cat is dog savvy and just stares at him while he sniffs her, he would absolutely try to play with one that has less dog experience and runs from him, though Kid Friendly: Unknown as I don't have kids but Boomer is a very sweet boy so probably just fine.If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 6-8ish and up, Boomer could knock over littles without trying to because he gets excited when playing. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?  When I tell you Boomer is sweet as candy , I mean it. This little guy has SO much love to give in that little wiggly body of his. He loves to give you a gentle hug and a kiss (we're working on getting love with all four paws on the ground!). This guy loves to play with toys, go on walks and be your little shadow. It's hard not to immediately fall in love with this adorable little guy, he's a charmer! Boomer is very smart and knows 'sit', 'lay down' and is working on 'paw' and 'stay'. He is incredibly intelligent (more than he likes to let on ) and will test you to see what he can get away with by distracting you with that cute little face! With a confident leader who shows him the rules, he will let you be the boss. I can bet he is going to be an amazing, loyal, lovable family dog!  Foster’s location: Long Neck/Millsboro, DE  Application can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/21170/generic (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app ) ##1816343##
