Story
Lainey is an affectionate 7 mth old who LOVES her human and cuddles. She is a very bright girl. She knows basic commands and hand signals for 3 of them, and is recalled by a whistle command. Lainey needs an active, experienced owner who can exercise her in a fenced in yard, or on hikes. Lainey may have separation anxiety, or it may still be puppy behavior. Lainey currently lives with another (small) dog and two cats. Lainey isn’t aware of her size and strength, therefore, can be a little too heavy with her attempts to initiate play with the other pets. It is important to note, Lainey is not aggressive with the other pets. Her furever family will need to keep an eye on her when it comes to playing with small children, because she can easily knock them over. Lainey is current with vaccinations and is not yet spayed. If Lainey sounds like a good match for you, let’s talk. Look forward to hearing from you 😊

Story
Dog Name: Denali Breed: Catahoula/Pit mix Sex: F Age: 3 years Weight: 60 lbs Medical needs: Zero! Housebroken: yes, on a routine/schedule. Crate trained: Yes. She goes in without issue. Sleeps quietly and sometimes retreats to it for a nap. Good in the car: Yep. She’d much prefer to be your co-pilot though. She needs a seatbelt Good on a leash: Denali loves to go for walks. Sometimes she gets excited and pulls. She is pretty easily redirected, with continued work on the leash, she is learning not to pull. She does seem to be exhibiting some protective behaviors and barks at strangers and dogs, so sometimes she needs a vibe check. In general, she walks well. Energy level: Medium to low. Denali enjoys a good game of fetch and will also entertain herself with toys or bones. She equally enjoys lounging around the house and spends most of the day snoozing. Need a fenced in yard: No. But she does love to be outside, leashed of course, if no fence. Dog Friendly: Denali lives with two resident dogs, male and female, and they get along well. She will do best with dogs her size or bigger, she likes to rough house. Denali was a bit nervous and insecure at first so she required a slow introduction. She shouldn’t be forced to interact with any dogs immediately and may require space in her crate and time to observe before meeting. But, yes she is very dog friendly. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home: No. Cat friendly: Unknown, but my gut says nope. Kid Friendly: Yes If yes, what's the youngest age: Denali currently lives with a 10 and 14 yr old. She adores them. In her previous home, she had exposure to a range of ages. I have not observed her with anyone younger than 10 and feel comfortable saying 10+. Traits that make your foster special: Denali is the walking definition of a love bug. She just wants alllllll of your attention and love. She will usually plop herself in front of you and put her head in your lap to request some pets. Denali was previously adopted but was returned to GRR. Her owner experienced an unexpected medical emergency and was no longer able to care for her. When she first came to us, she was reserved and nervous. Her tail didn’t move much, and though she sought us out for love, it took her about 10 days to fully relax and show us her whole, silly personality. If you can imagine a happy little hippo, then you surely can envision Denali’s happy wiggle butt waiting to greet you each day! She can be unsure about strangers (aren’t we all ), and may need time to adjust to their presence. Crating her to start or ensuring someone’s confidence upon their arrival is really all she needs. Treats are an easy way to heart Denali can be found playing with the resident dogs, taking a sniffari, or lounging around the house. She’s settled in quite nicely and now that we’ve gotten to know her better, it’s time for her take the next big step and find her forever home. If you’re looking for a companion that will motivate you to get outside then reward yourself with a little Netflix and chill, Denali is your girl. Foster’s Location: Berlin, MD Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app) ##1697475##

Story
Olympia is a super sweet Red bone Coonhound Catahoula mix. She is about 40 pounds and super sweet. She loves to play fetch, go for hikes and wrestle with her brother. She is crate trained and potty trained at her foster home.. She takes good care of her brother Ocean who is sight impaired so if they could be adopted together that would be great. If interested in adopting, please visit www.masrescue.org and click on "Adopt Here". You will find the adoption application at the bottom of the page. Beginning June 30th, 2017, MAS Rescue will charge a $10 non refundable administrative application processing fee. 100% of this fee will be for our rescued animals in need. To be clear: 1. No dog application will be processed until the $10 fee is paid via PayPal link on our website: http://www.masrescue.org/helpus.html. 2. The $10 is non refundable. Should you be approved and adopt an animal through MAS Rescue, you will receive a $10 credit to your adoption fee. 3. Paying the application fee is in no way a guarantee that you will be approved to adopt an animal through MAS Rescue. All of the same standards in processing applications still apply. See our policies and procedures: http://www.masrescue.org/pnp.html 4. By submitting an application and paying the $10 application fee, you agree to the terms listed above. If you do not adopt through MAS Rescue or your application is rejected, this serves as your notice of the application fee policy. The adoption fee is $300.00. Please Note: 100% of all the adoption fees collected are used to care for the animals, and pay our ever increasing vet bill. We appreciate your interest in adopting from a rescue organization. We understand the desire to meet our "cuties" as soon as possible, but because we operate entirely out of foster homes, we need to limit visitation to approved applicants only. Once your completed application is submitted by you and approved by MASR, we will be glad to schedule your visit. This puppy has been examined by our vet, and provided with first vaccinations and initial preventatives. Please be aware that it is the opinion of this rescue group, in conjunction with dog behaviorists, that a young puppy benefits greatly with proper socialization. We will only place puppies in homes where they have the opportunity to be with someone all day, travel to work, or have special arrangements, such as Puppy Day Care, Dog Walker, etc. Puppies benefit greatly from Obedience Training - and we encourage you to check out http://www.pupsdogobediencetraining.com/ . They offer a great discount for training of puppies coming from MAS Rescue! Breed Selection is 'Best Efforts' given by shelter staff, veterinarians and rescue volunteers. NO guarantees are implied. Please note that small breeds are not well designed for families with young children as everything about them is more delicate and will require careful handling. Remember, adoption is a commitment for the lifetime of your new furry friend; dogs could live 15 years or more!!
