She is a dominate female, that can get along with other dogs of the right fit. Mocha needs an active lifestyle where someone will be willing to play fetch from sunrise to sunset. Mocha likes to go for walks, and with a little more work on leash will love to go for runs as well! With the proper training, Mocha could make a great hunting dog. Mocha is a smart gal who picks up on things fairly quick. Mocha knows how to sit, to drop the ball when told to "drop it", does well for baths, and great for car rides. Because of her "go-go-go" mentality, Mocha will need work on potty training. The shelter environment is a stressful one, especially for Mocha. This sweet black and tan coonhound wandered up near Talala just days before Thanksgiving- hungry, scared, and hoping someone might notice her. In only two days, she's shown how gentle and friendly she really is. She happily greets new people, does well with an 11 year old child, is friendly with other dogs, but has made it clear she's not looking to befriend chickens. She even sits politely and comes when called, which is pretty adorable for a little stray who hasn't had much guidance.

Boone is a 9 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound who is looking for a quieter place to land for his senior years. He's a big, mellow guy who enjoys lounging around the house, getting pets, and keeping close to his people. Boone matches the energy of his home- relaxed most of the time, but still happy to go for short walks or hop in the car for a ride. Boone does best in a calm, adult home without small children. As he's gotten older, he's become more sensitive about his space, resulting in resource guarding around food and certain toys, squeaky toys especially, and needs people who can respect his boundaries and give him consistency addressing these behaviors. He's house trained, can be trusted home alone, and is generally friendly with adults and strangers. He would likely do best as an only dog or with one other older, laid back dog. If you're looking for a low-key companion who just wants comfort, routine, and a soft place to hang, Boone is waiting to hear from you!
