Story
Archie is a very good and active family pet who has been very loved for the past five years. While not a fault in any way, my elderly mother is unfortunately not able to meet his activity level and he would thrive in a home with people who are able to have regular active play with him. He is very playful and talkative (not barking) and gets along with the six cats he has lived with for years.

Story
Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted on 12/31/23, and the pictures were taken on 12/30/23.  Paxton was found dumped in Alto, TX around the first part of December 2023, and surrendered to us on 12/11/23.  The owner was found, and the sheriff got involved.  He had dumped other dogs as well. Paxton is very sweet with people, will follow a person around without a leash, and does ok on a leash, but he needs more work on a leash.  He is good with other dogs both male and female, and has not tried to dig under or climb over the 4 foot fence he is in.  House training and cats are unknown.  His breed is unsure, but his coat color and body shape could resemble a Catahoula Mix.  Treeing Walker Hounds have longer ears than he has, which the saddle color on his body resembles that breed some.  Paxton was estimated to have been born in June 2022, he was neutered on 12/22/23, and is current on vaccinations. $25 adoption fee, since a donation was made to help with his veterinary care.April 24, 2024, 12:21 am

Story
LOCATION: Cleveland, TexasDOB: 11/30/2022Do you want a Dane mix (Catahoula?) but you don't have space for a large pup? Then Copper is your guy! Sleek Dane build, typical Dane personality, but in miniature form! GENERAL PERSONALITY: Such a silly boy! He's reminiscent of Bambi on ice when he plays - hoppy, floppy, and legs everywhere! He's only vocal as a fear response (whining), or when he REALLY needs to go outside from his kennel.DISPOSITION: Gets along great with his foster siblings - x-large and small - but he takes a bit longer to warm up to the bigger dogs (he is non-reactive though). Completely non-reactive with cats - both inside and out - but he's leary of the horses. He likes to go outside and play with the other pups. He runs like a greyhound - this boy is fast! During the day he's quite content to be piled up on his dog bed while his foster mom works. He does have issues with "stranger danger" - even when the stranger lives there (aka foster dad). Food is definitely his motivator. Since he came from a starvation case he inhales his kibble, so we feed in a puzzle bowl. He doesn't bother the other dogs while they eat, and he's learned that the cat food is not for him, but he will counter surf if food is left within his reach (aka the coffee table) and he's unattended. We haven't noticed any resource guarding, and we are able to love on him while he eats. He loves to be loved on and would like to be a lap dog. Definitely a velcro pupper.IDEAL HOME: Single person female home would be ideal, but may do well with a soft-spoken male. In a 2 person home he attaches to his person but remains leary of others. Oddly enough, he will ask for attention from foster dad IF dad is sitting down. Unsure about kids since he's currently in a 2-person home, but may do well with older kids or a calmer house.TRAINING: He's housebroken, but routine outside time is a factor in that. He's not vocal about going outside, so "outside" and "love me" present the same way. He's free-roaming during the day, but does fine in his kennel overnight and when his foster mom has to go out. He's very soft on a leash - no pulling - and gets better every day with name recall when off leash. Kiss noises still work best for that though. He has learned sit, lay down, kennel, bed, and let's go.LIKES: Ear scratches, all the loves, soft beds, and his foster mom's pocket.DISLIKES: He's not a fan of car rides, but luckily he's small enough to be picked up, and he rides quietly. An occasional reassuring pat helps.FAVORITE TOYS: He loves his squeaky octopus, and any soft toys he can steal from his foster siblings. He's a nibbler, so reinforced fabric on toys are preferable (Kong type heavy canvas).FUTURE PLANS: To be loved forever by an amazing adoptive person or family!========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org.
