Story
Meet our Catahoula mix babies of between 3 and 4 months.  All girls, they make a fine litter of happy and energetic puppies.  They love to play with each other as well as other dogs, kids, and even their foster’s cat.  These girls all wear short coats, but of different colors.  Sofia is gray with white; Sema is tan with white; Shalene is white with black (and a bit of tan) and Sadie is brown with white.  Some bear Catahoula markings while others’ faces are enchantingly wrinkled in Sharpei fashion.  Between 20 and 25 puppy pounds, they will each mature to about 60. What a delight these baby girls are!  (posted 2/3/24, TN)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  February 24, 2024, 2:16 pm

Story
Major was a stray who was never reclaimed and we can't imagine why. His unique markings set him apart from the other dogs and his playful personality will keep you laughing. He walks well on a leash, loves to be in the play yard and can keep himself entertained with a toy for a long time. He is also very loving and enjoys cuddles. This boy is the total package and would love to find a home of his own.

This wonderful boy's name is NICO. He is a Catahoula Leopard.  One of the most common breeds of dogs in the south and were originally used to drive Hogs and Cattle.  These dogs are very loyal and NICO would make a great family pet to add to yours.  He has the most distinguished glass eye (right) and makes him stand out from any other animal.  Nico can look intimidating but in fact is a very sweet boy. He enjoys walking on a leash and playing around with people.  Nico has beautiful puddled orange spots mixed with sandy white colors.  Nico is fully vaccinated and neutered as well as microchipped.  Nico can be transported to anywhere in the United States and Canada.  Please inquire about Nico or fill out his online application and consider making him an addition to your family.      se inquire about Nico or fill out his online application and consider making him an addition to your family.  ##1501785##

Our pets are fostered and physically located in Mt.Airy,NC until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to your location or one of our other north eastern delivery locations. This pup is a Catahoula mix. This pup was born 10-20-22. This pup will not be overly large. My educated guess is around 35-40 pounds at maturity. This pup is extremely sweet and social. This pup is great with other dogs and cats. We have started crate training and potty training. Frank is neutered. This pup will be current on vaccines, deworming, preventives. This pup will be micro-chipped. This pup will receive a physical and a certificate of health prior to going home. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Some dogs come to us with very special needs and BamBam is one of those dogs.  While he is a playful pup full of energy and affection, he is also extremely fearful of the world.  This fear can manifest into making him protective and reactive.  As his anxiety traits present a challenge, a quiet, experienced and patient home is required to address his needs.  He should also be in a home without children or other pets.  Among his many positive qualities, he is quiet, house trained, crate trained, and he will sit nicely and lift his paw for a treat.  He is extremely shy when meeting new people but once BamBam feels comfortable, he will be your loyal companion forever!    **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Upcoming adoption events: Saturday Feb 17th 12 - 3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 11135 Lee Highway; Fairfax     Saturday Feb 24th 12-3pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 2280 Hunters wood Plaza; Reston     Saturday Mar 2nd  12 - 3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 11135 Lee Highway; Fairfax     Saturday Mar 9th 12 - 3 pm  Weber's Pet Supermarket; 2280 Hunters Wood Plaza; Reston       We are always desperate for foster homes, now more than ever. Story
Meet Atlas. While his DNA is very rich in dog breeds (18 actually), his appearance is quite unique, with two breeds as the main standouts. His face and ear structure look mostly Pitbull, but his "glass eyes", height, thick body (about 65 lbs), and mottled coat are distinct characteristics of his distant Catahoula Leopard dog relatives. Atlas loves a good cuddle and is the best hugger. Although he can be a little stand-offish around strangers at first, he warms up quickly to people of all ages. He does well with children and with other dogs that do not have as dominant of a personality as his own. He loves hikes, exploring, runs/walks, chasing balls and frisbees, playing tug, and chewing on toys. He will dig from boredom if he is left alone outside for long periods of time without sufficient engagement. He knows a few commands but usually prefers to perform for treats. Atlas is an affectionate, active dog that needs an equally loving and active family to meet his emotional and physical needs.   If you would like to make this amazing guy part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Atlas is located in Alabama and available for transport. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.

Story
A 10-month-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, Journee’s name came from the English word for “journey,” or a trip of some kind. This name suits her well because her life so far has been a journey, the destination being a loving forever home. Journee’s foster saw her in the kill shelter, pulled her out, and brought her home and into rescue. She was 5 months old then, about 10 months old now, and in the 5 months since her rescue, she has grown almost to her full size of 55 pounds. Her short coat is tricolor, but mostly white, and her eyes big and brown and hopeful. She loves children, other dogs, and even cats. Being adopted would mean the end of her journey because she would have found you WAITING FOR HER at home. (TN,7/30/24) (REVISED 12/10/23)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00  We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  February 24, 2024, 2:16 pm

Story
Meet bones! He's one of the friendliest pups you'll ever meet, and a big cuddle buddy once he's come out of his shell. He loves going on walks and playing at the dog park, and with toys. Preferably a big space for him to run around in would be wonderful! He is also a big jumper when he's excited but he sits very well and will back down when told! Bones struggles being left alone for long periods of time and doesn't have the greatest relationship with crates due to some bad experiences with past owners but is very treat motivated and with time can be trained into them!
