Story
Meet our Catahoula mix babies of between 3 and 4 months.  All girls, they make a fine litter of happy and energetic puppies.  They love to play with each other as well as other dogs, kids, and even their foster’s cat.  These girls all wear short coats, but of different colors.  Sofia is gray with white; Sema is tan with white; Shalene is white with black (and a bit of tan) and Sadie is brown with white.  Some bear Catahoula markings while others’ faces are enchantingly wrinkled in Sharpei fashion.  Between 20 and 25 puppy pounds, they will each mature to about 60. What a delight these baby girls are!  (posted 2/3/24, TN)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  April 26, 2024, 11:32 am

Story
Our pets are fostered and physically located in Mt.Airy,NC until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to your location or one of our other north eastern delivery locations. This pup is a Catahoula mix. This pup was born 10-20-22. This pup will not be overly large. My educated guess is around 35-40 pounds at maturity. This pup is shy. She warms up. This pup is great with other dogs and cats. We have started crate training and potty training. Frances is spayed! I will consider a reduced adoption fee to the right home. This pup will be current on vaccines, deworming, preventives. This pup will be micro-chipped. This pup will receive a physical and a certificate of health prior to going home. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Also, if you live out of state we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend.

Story
Nico is a very handsome boy with beautiful eyes. He needs to be on a strict routine. He shouldn't be in a home with young kids. He would have to be the only pet. He is strong and stubborn. He needs someone who will be consistent with him. He isn't friendly to other animals. He is very loyal and protective to his person. He needs a home with a yard. He needs a home where it is strict and the person(s) are patient. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. Inquire about setting up a meet and greet.       ##1501785##

Story
Major was a stray who was never reclaimed and we can't imagine why. His unique markings set him apart from the other dogs and his playful personality will keep you laughing. He walks well on a leash, loves to be in the play yard and can keep himself entertained with a toy for a long time. He is also very loving and enjoys cuddles. This boy is the total package and would love to find a home of his own.

Story
Meet Atlas. While his DNA is very rich in dog breeds (18 actually), his appearance is quite unique, with two breeds as the main standouts. His face and ear structure look mostly Pitbull, but his "glass eyes", height, thick body (about 65 lbs), and mottled coat are distinct characteristics of his distant Catahoula Leopard dog relatives. Atlas loves a good cuddle and is the best hugger. Although he can be a little stand-offish around strangers at first, he warms up quickly to people of all ages. He does well with children and with other dogs that do not have as dominant of a personality as his own. He loves hikes, exploring, runs/walks, chasing balls and frisbees, playing tug, and chewing on toys. He will dig from boredom if he is left alone outside for long periods of time without sufficient engagement. He knows a few commands but usually prefers to perform for treats. Atlas is an affectionate, active dog that needs an equally loving and active family to meet his emotional and physical needs.   If you would like to make this amazing guy part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Atlas is located in Alabama and available for transport. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.

Story
A 10-month-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix, Journee’s name came from the English word for “journey,” or a trip of some kind. This name suits her well because her life so far has been a journey, the destination being a loving forever home. Journee’s foster saw her in the kill shelter, pulled her out, and brought her home and into rescue. She was 5 months old then, about 10 months old now, and in the 5 months since her rescue, she has grown almost to her full size of 55 pounds. Her short coat is tricolor, but mostly white, and her eyes big and brown and hopeful. She loves children, other dogs, and even cats. Being adopted would mean the end of her journey because she would have found you WAITING FOR HER at home. (TN,7/30/24) (REVISED 12/10/23)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption Fee/Transport Fee: $250.00  We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip .
