Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Also, if you live out of state we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend.

Story
Nico is a very handsome boy with beautiful eyes. He needs to be on a strict routine. He shouldn't be in a home with young kids. He would have to be the only pet. He is strong and stubborn. He needs someone who will be consistent with him. He isn't friendly to other animals. He is very loyal and protective to his person. He needs a home with a yard. He needs a home where it is strict and the person(s) are patient. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. Inquire about setting up a meet and greet.       ##1501785##

Story
Meet our Catahoula mix babies of between 3 and 4 months.  All girls, they make a fine litter of happy and energetic puppies.  They love to play with each other as well as other dogs, kids, and even their foster’s cat.  These girls all wear short coats, but of different colors.  Sofia is gray with white; Sema is tan with white; Shalene is white with black (and a bit of tan) and Sadie is brown with white.  Some bear Catahoula markings while others’ faces are enchantingly wrinkled in Sharpei fashion.  Between 20 and 25 puppy pounds, they will each mature to about 60. What a delight these baby girls are!  (posted 2/3/24, TN)  **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  April 24, 2024, 2:47 pm

Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Some dogs come to us with very special needs and BamBam is one of those dogs.  While he is a playful pup full of energy and affection, he is also extremely fearful of the world.  This fear can manifest into making him protective and reactive.  As his anxiety traits present a challenge, a quiet, experienced and patient home is required to address his needs.  He should also be in a home without children or other pets.  Among his many positive qualities, he is quiet, house trained, crate trained, and he will sit nicely and lift his paw for a treat.  He is extremely shy when meeting new people but once BamBam feels comfortable, he will be your loyal companion forever!    **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Story
Porky is part of our Little Rascal Litter.   We got word that Porky and his siblings were abandoned roadside in NC. He is an 8 week old, catahoula leopard dog mix, and weighing at about 6 lbs now.  We searched for fosters and were able to bring them into rescue while they await their forever homes. This breed is known to be high energy so we’re looking for families who are ready to give him the outlets that he will need.  As a young puppy, he's looking for a family with plenty of time an to help show him everything a young puppy needs to know. He is still very young and working on house training, crate training, as well as basic puppy manners. To adopt Porky  please apply on our website! www.keytolionsheart.org/adopt Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training. April 21, 2024, 3:01 pm
