Hi, my name is Remington - nice to me you! I am a silly girl who just likes to play. I get along really well with people and dogs. One of my favorite things is playing with my foster siblings - even though I will play with everyone, I usually will gravitate towards one pal at a time. I can be a little reserved at first with my humans but once I trust you I'm very affectionate and like to give hugs! ADOPTION FEE: $350 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) ADOPTER: MUST have breed experience BIRTHDAY: 9/28/22 FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment) DOG FRIENDLY: Yes DOGS IN HOME: Yes CATS: Unknown CHILDREN: Yes - 8 years and older I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $350 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me! ***WE DO NOT HOLD DOGS. IF YOU ARE GOING ON VACATION OR ARE NOT YET READY TO PROCEED PLEASE APPLY WHEN YOU ARE.*** INQUIRIES: ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com. We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25. DO NOT: USE THE PETFINDER INQUIRY/CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those and you will not receive a response. PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding! Rehoming GSD: Onyx (Dayton, OH) Born: 5/20/24, 85 lbs, fixed, microchipped & UTD on shots. Smart, athletic, loyal & playful. Loves laser play, agility, tug, catching toys, baths & staying close. Not aggressive but alert & will bark at strangers. Ideal home: Military, police, security or prior K9 handler OR structured adult home w/ NO kids. Needs routine, boundaries, space & fenced yard/land. Commands: Sit, Stay, Guard, Speak, Walk, By My Side, Lay, partial Roll Over. Potty & crate trained, good left alone in one room. NEEDS MORE PUBLIC TRAINING. Temperament: Energetic, intelligent, good w/ a cat before, unsure w/ dogs, mild food anxiety, some separation anxiety but manageable. Diet: Open Farm + fresh foods. Comes w/ harness, leash, bowls, leftover food, container, crate, toys, shoes, mat, grooming items & microchip info. Due to my partner’s progressing disabilities, we can no longer provide the level of care Onyx needs. PREFER TO KEEP COMMUNICATION/UPDATES.

Story
Great dog, we are just struggling to find the time to properly care for him. He was hit by a car before we got him and has mild arthritis in his knee. Still moves around fine though, takes joint meds and pain meds. Tanks is on a non-chicken diet.
