You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       DOB: 12/07/2022 Requires another dog in home: Yes, another well-balanced dog is required Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: No Weight: 10 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, required Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Are you that kind of special person that's looking for not just any dog who immediately loves you and wants to be with you all the time, but one who makes you work for a relationship instead? Kind of like a cat but perky and house trained?. Corbin is that dog, he is  very afraid of being touched by humans but he definitely loves them.  He's come a long way in his short life and he actually really enjoys being pet and scratched, but on his own terms. He often approaches to be pet when you wake up in the morning being flat on your back and perhaps a little groggy. If your sitting, you're much less scary.  Corbin loves to play with other dogs and truly loves the companionship of other dogs big or small. A role model dog is really important for Corbin as is a fence to keep him safe. Corbin is house trained, and crate trained, and a very good listener.  Corbin struggles to trust people and no doubt it's because of past experiences. He is the sweetest little guy with a huge heart and you can see that in him every day.  He wants to trust and he loves to be loved, his past is just in his way. If you're that special person who knows how to work with a frightened dog, who has endless patience to wait for him, and be on his schedule, Corbin is for you.  Corbin is an overall, very happy dog who loves the feel of the sun on his face when he's sitting outside, with other dogs and LOVES treats.  All he needs now is a forever home with lots of patience, unconditional love and a family that will help him be the best he can be! With time he will learn to trust – we are taking baby steps. Will you take those baby steps with me? Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Wren is a gentle and deeply devoted Cavachon with a tender heart and a quiet, sensitive nature. She forms an incredibly strong bond with her person—so strong that calling her a “velcro dog” hardly does her justice. Wren prefers to stay close to the one she trusts, following them from room to room and seeking comfort simply by being near. For the right person, she will be the ultimate loyal companion. She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time and is happy to include her in daily life. Although Wren is very sweet, she is also timid due to limited exposure to new experiences. Sudden movements, loud noises, or busy environments can make her nervous, and she may retreat to observe from a safe space until she feels comfortable again. Her response to stress is calm rather than chaotic—she prefers to quietly watch from her kennel or a cozy spot nearby. This sweet girl would thrive as the only dog in the home. She prefers not to share her person and can become protective when other dogs approach. In a calm, single-dog household, she will feel far more relaxed and secure. Wren is still learning about many everyday things. She is new to leash walking and currently freezes when the leash is introduced, so patient training will help her build confidence. She also hasn’t yet learned to manage stairs or jump on and off furniture, so her adopter should be comfortable helping her by lifting her when needed. While she isn’t interested in toys, Wren does enjoy chewing on treats like bones, pig ears, or bully sticks. She can also be a bit of a picky eater and prefers fresh or freeze-dried foods rather than dry kibble. Her forever family will need to be prepared for the extra cost of fresh food. Wren currently uses potty pads reliably and is expected to transition to outdoor potty training with time, patience, and encouragement. Because she can be nervous outdoors, a fenced yard may help her feel safer as she learns about the world around her. At her core, Wren is a calm, affectionate, and incredibly loyal little dog who simply wants to love and be loved by her person. In a quiet home with an understanding adopter who can offer patience, reassurance, and lots of closeness, Wren will blossom into a devoted companion whose bond with her human is truly special. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.
