Story
Spice is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel born approx 2/12/21. Spice spent the first 4-ish years of her life as a breeding mama before coming into the rescue in September. She lives in a foster home with another foster dog, 2 resident adult dogs, 3 kids, and 2 adults. Since almost everything is new to her, she has been very afraid and prefers to spend most of her time safely in a crate or on a dog bed. Still, she is curious about her new surroundings and explores when she feels brave. While she is bigger than a typical Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, she still could be a lap dog. We can tell that she has a sweet soul and we know that she will be a loving dog once she feels comfortable in a home. After just one week in her foster home, she has found the courage to approach the adults and sniff them. She sometimes follows the kids around the house. She doesn't like to be pet, held or approached. She likes to be able to approach you when she is ready. She is not potty-trained and does not walk on a leash. Spice would do best in a home with another well-adjusted dog who can show her the ropes on what “dog life” is all about. Instead of barking, she howls when she is uncomfortable or scared. Her family thinks is pretty cute! She likes other dogs, big or small, but does not play with them yet. Spice makes progress every day so if you are interested in helping her learn how to live “the good life” as a family dog, please submit an application to meet her!
