Story
Didi is a King Charles Cavalier, appx 4 yrs old. He loves toys and carry with them wherever he goes and he loves to sleep with them. He weights about 18lbs, loves to eat! He does fine with other dogs and is healthy overall. He does have dry eye condition that will require lifetime eye drops and bi-annual eye specialist visits to check on his eyes. The eye meds are about $150 every two months and the eye specialist visit is about a couple of hundred dollars per visit. The eye meds are helping him overall which is great progress! He does get nervous in car rides and walking outside but these are not major issues at all. Hes loving and likes to cuddle.

Story
We love twotwo sooo much. We need to rehome due to taking care of ailing parents out of country for an indeterminate extended stay. Her gotcha day was 2/22/22. She is a mix of a shi tzu and cavalier. Within a few weeks of incorporating her in our family she was bit on her face. She survived after emergency intervention. Since then she is super scared of other dogs. She was in my arms at the time so she is even more protecting of myself and husband. She is trained. She will sit and do some commands. Completely house broken. He commands are sit, heel, leave it and free. She is great with people and children once she warms up. She lives with one toddler currently and is super sweet and gentle. She can be left alone after walks and during work day without accidents Rarely ever sheds even when hair is kept long.

Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, December 13th from 12-3pm unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $700 Meet Thundercat, a 4–5 year old, 13-pound Spaniel mix with the softest heart and the sweetest soul.   This little guy arrived at the shelter trembling from head to tail, unsure of the world, and overwhelmed by everything around him. But the moment he realized he was safe, his whole demeanor changed. Within hours he bonded tightly with our volunteers, leaning in for comfort and showing an overwhelming gratitude that is impossible to miss.   Now in his foster home, Thundercat has settled into a gentle, predictable routine that helps him feel secure. His day begins around 8 am with a quick potty break, followed by breakfast. At noon he enjoys a 20–25 minute backyard play session filled with sniffing, exploring, and the occasional burst of zoomies. The afternoon is a blend of naps, quiet toy play, and frequent little snuggle breaks with his foster. He has another potty break around 4 pm, dinner at 6 pm, and then a short walk or backyard play session. From 7 pm to 10 pm he relaxes in his cozy enclosure area, resting on soft blankets or playing with toys. After his final potty break at 10 pm, he settles himself down for the night and sleeps quietly until morning.   Thundercat’s personality is tender, sensitive, and incredibly loving once he feels safe. Loud or sudden noises still startle him, and quick approaches can make him shrink back. But when approached calmly with an open, gentle hand, he melts on the spot. He leans in for affection, asks for belly rubs, and becomes a true velcro dog, happiest when tucked right against his person. He loves to burrow into your side, and once he trusts you, he will follow you wherever you go.   He is also wonderfully playful. His favorite toy is a small tennis ball, and fetch is his absolute joy. He can entertain himself with toys for long stretches, but he also loves companionship and thrives with access to his people. He appears to be a picky eater and prefers when someone sits with him during meals. His foster has had success mixing his kibble with a little water and wet food.   Thundercat has been excellent with the resident dog. He understands boundaries, respects space, and is non-reactive even when the other dog gets grumpy. They have enjoyed playful chases in the yard, and he would likely be thrilled to have another friendly dog in his forever home. Because he startles easily and needs slow, calm handling, a home with adults or older children who understand his sensitivities would suit him best.   He walks nicely on leash with no pulling or reactivity, though he zigzags and pauses often as he takes in the world around him. With time and confidence, he will settle into a more consistent pace. He is fully housetrained, familiar with potty pads, and understands how to signal when he needs to go outside. He has access to a crate but prefers to sleep on blankets in his open enclosure area. He learned to use a doggy screen door almost immediately.   Thundercat is not a barker in general. He primarily vocalizes to ask for attention, when toys are being handed out, or when the household dog is getting leashed up for a walk. Otherwise he is quiet, gentle, and easy to have around. He does not dig, chew, or get into trouble, and he is content to simply be near his people.   His ideal home is a quiet, steady environment with adults or older children, access to companionship, and potentially another friendly dog for play and confidence-building. He can handle short periods alone but is happiest with regular company. His adopters should understand that he needs patience, gentle handling, and time to blossom into his most confident self.   What makes Thundercat so special?   Despite his past, he radiates sweetness. He desperately wants to trust, to connect, and to be close. He is house-trained, non-reactive to animals and humans, low-shedding, smart, and highly trainable. He does not need constant entertainment, just reassurance and companionship.   And for a final charm point: he has the cutest little lip snag that gives him a permanently endearing expression, and when he gets excited, he does a tiny hop across the yard that will make you smile every single time.   Thundercat is ready for a gentle, loving home where he can finally exhale and be adored the way he deserves. If you are looking for a devoted, sensitive, playful companion with a heart of gold, he may be the perfect match.December 12, 2025, 3:44 am

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750 Meet Lady Elizabeth   Lady Elizabeth is a charming 3 year old, 15 lb Cavalier King Charles–type mix who came to the rescue from the shelter alongside her loyal companion, Mr. Darcy. True to her elegant name, she carries herself with a gentle grace, balanced by a warm, affectionate nature that makes her an instant favorite with everyone she meets.   Daily Routine Lady Elizabeth enjoys sleeping in and is happy to rise whenever her humans do. Since she is still working on potty training, it’s best to take her outside first thing in the morning. After that, she’s ready for breakfast around 8:00 a.m., followed by another quick trip outside, as she often needs to go again right after eating.   Once breakfast is done, Lady Elizabeth typically has a burst of happy energy—zoomies, toy play, and joyful little hops— before settling into either adventure mode or full-on cozy mode. She loves being close to her humans and any nearby pets and enjoys at least one walk a day, with two being ideal. Between activities, she’s perfectly content taking plenty of naps.   Dinner is around 5:00 p.m., and she eats enthusiastically and quickly, sometimes keeping an eye on what her foster brother is eating as well. After dinner, she heads outside again for another potty opportunity. In the evening, she happily snuggles in for the night, and with a few more chances to go outside before bedtime, she generally sleeps through the night without accidents. Her favorite sleeping spot is curled up next to—or adorably sandwiched between—her humans.   Personality & Temperament Lady Elizabeth is the definition of a velcro dog. She follows her people from room to room and feels happiest when she’s close to those she trusts. She can be a bit anxious when left alone and may have accidents during those times, even if she has recently gone outside, so she thrives on reassurance, routine, and companionship.   She is cautiously curious when meeting new people or dogs—initially a bit shy, but quick to warm up. She is friendly, social, and interested in the world around her, though she prefers to stay near her trusted humans until she feels fully comfortable. She also has a sweetly jealous side and likes to be part of the action if another dog is receiving attention or treats.   Despite her sensitivity, Lady Elizabeth is remarkably calm and easy-going. Many people have commented on her composed demeanor even in unfamiliar or mildly stressful situations. That calmness is paired with a playful streak—when she’s excited, she loves to run, jump, and play, and her joy is absolutely contagious.   Above all else, Lady Elizabeth is incredibly snuggly. She adores being petted, loves lap time, and prefers to be touching her humans whenever possible. If snuggling isn’t available, she’ll happily curl up on cozy blankets, the couch, or a dog bed nearby.   Energy Level & Play Style Lady Elizabeth is a wonderful mix of lounger and playful companion. Most of the day, she’s content to relax and snuggle, but she has energetic bursts where she plays with toys, zooms around, or heads out for a walk. She has surprisingly good stamina and enjoys longer walks, which usually leave her happily tired and ready to settle back into cuddle mode.   Leash Skills & Outings She loves going for walks and is excited when the leash comes out. She walks nicely without pulling, barking, or chasing, though she does enjoy stopping to sniff people as they pass by. She generally stays close and checks in with her humans, but in unenclosed areas she may get excited and sprint, so secure spaces are best for off-leash time.   Social Life Lady Elizabeth currently lives with a large senior dog and coexists peacefully. She enjoys snuggling near him and following him outside, though they mostly go about their day independently. She hasn’t had much interaction with children or other animals in foster care yet but has done well out in public settings.   Why Lady Elizabeth Once Lady Elizabeth trusts you, she gives her whole heart. She is loving, playful, calm, and deeply devoted, with a personality that feels both comforting and joyful. From the moment she trotted into her foster home, confidently greeting everyone before melting into their laps, she made it clear she was ready to belong.   Her happy little jumps, her love of snuggles, and her desire to be close make her incredibly special. Lady Elizabeth is the kind of dog who doesn’t just live in your home—she lives in your arms and at your side, and she’s ready to bring that devotion to her forever family.December 16, 2025, 6:23 pm
