✨Meet Winter!✨ Winter is an 8-year-old King Charles Cavalier mix who came into us as a surrender from a commercial breeding facility (aka Puppy Mill) in Lancaster County. Winter had a very difficult life before coming to us, being used as a mill mama her entire life. She is shut down at this time but is slowly starting to give us her trust. We are confident she will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family, who understands her past and gives her the time she needs to trust them and her new surroundings. Winter loves other animals, and will thrive in a home with at least one other dog. Adopting a puppy mill survivor is life-changing—for you and them. For these dogs, everything is new and often overwhelming: people, houses, stairs, leashes, food bowls, collars, toys, TVs, ovens, doorways, pavement…the list goes on. They need adopters who can move slowly, be patient, keep expectations reasonable, and provide the understanding and tools they need to grow into happy, confident companions. Patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding are key! We promise there is nothing that compares to gaining the love and trust of a mill mama, but it requires intentional effort and commitment from their new family. With the right guidance, puppy mill survivors can blossom into well-socialized, joyful dog- so our goal is always to ensure every adopter is fully prepared to give them the life and environment they need to truly thrive! ✨Meet Brighton!✨ Brighton came to us after being surrendered by his previous family due to him needing more exercise, training, and time than they were able to give him. Brighton is a 3 year old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel/Sheltie mixed breed who is a very high energy boy! He has lived with other dogs, and is very dog friendly. He would prefer a home without children, but has lived around young children who have dog experience. He is house trained, and a handsome boy! Brighton is a vocal and active dog that will require a family up to the task of providing him the ample physical and mental exercise and training that he requires. He would love an active family who is looking for an adventure buddy, running companion, or agility dog! He doesn’t love to cuddle but will happily be right by your side on any of life’s adventures! Please read the bio of the rescue you are interested in to insure you are a match if you are a match the first step is to complete the online adoption application  Ilene is a sweet cavachon who is now a retired breeder.  She has a wonderful personality and loves to cuddle.   When arriving at our rescue we found her to have a lump in her mammary area.  The decision was made to address when she was spayed.  The veterinarian removed one entire side of her mammary gland to insure if it was an issue it was gone.  We have kept an eye on her and she is doing great.  She will need to learn everything about being part of a family. Also will need another small to medium dog in the home.  No small children.  Ilene is now up to date on rabies and distemper vaccines,  microchipped,  tested for heartworm negative and now current on preventatives.
