Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is a courtesy posting. Please call 410-627-6563 for information on fostering or adopting Truman. At 12 pounds and 1 year old this sweet boy is in need of a soft place to land. Poor little Truman was found running in fear through the streets of Baltimore City trying to survive. Kids were throwing cans and bricks at him.  He is now vetted and is good with other dogs. Truman amazingly still trusts people. He will need a home with another dog and a physical fence. Can anyone help this little survivor?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 26, 2025, 8:47 am

Story
Jazz is a very calm dog. His favorite time is autumn because he can run after the leaves. He loves to play outside and he is a very faithful dog. We have him with him for 5 years. He is trained to go outside. Unfortunately, due to my girls' health conditions we can't continue with him, but his next owner will enjoy his company a lot!

Story
✨Meet Winter!✨ Winter is an 8-year-old King Charles Cavalier mix who came into us as a surrender from a commercial breeding facility (aka Puppy Mill) in Lancaster County. Winter had a very difficult life before coming to us, being used as a mill mama her entire life. She is shut down at this time but is slowly starting to give us her trust. We are confident she will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family, who understands her past and gives her the time she needs to trust them and her new surroundings. Winter loves other animals, and will thrive in a home with at least one other dog. Adopting a puppy mill survivor is life-changing—for you and them. For these dogs, everything is new and often overwhelming: people, houses, stairs, leashes, food bowls, collars, toys, TVs, ovens, doorways, pavement…the list goes on. They need adopters who can move slowly, be patient, keep expectations reasonable, and provide the understanding and tools they need to grow into happy, confident companions. Patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding are key! We promise there is nothing that compares to gaining the love and trust of a mill mama, but it requires intentional effort and commitment from their new family. With the right guidance, puppy mill survivors can blossom into well-socialized, joyful dog- so our goal is always to ensure every adopter is fully prepared to give them the life and environment they need to truly thrive! If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾

Story
✨Meet Brighton!✨ Brighton came to us after being surrendered by his previous family due to him needing more exercise, training, and time than they were able to give him. Brighton is a 3 year old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel/Sheltie mixed breed who is a very high energy boy! He has lived with other dogs, and is very dog friendly. He would prefer a home without children, but has lived around young children who have dog experience. He is house trained, and a handsome boy! Brighton is a vocal and active dog that will require a family up to the task of providing him the ample physical and mental exercise and training that he requires. He would love an active family who is looking for an adventure buddy, running companion, or agility dog! He doesn’t love to cuddle but will happily be right by your side on any of life’s adventures! If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾

Story
If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Natasha, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The CSAC volunteer said that I am very sweet, not afraid to approach people to say hello and constantly wagging my tail. I do have a pancreas issue that requires medication added to my food to keep it under control. I do have a grade 3 of 6 heart murmur. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Hello we are 2 fun loving little girls who had to start over.  Our family didn't have a lot of time to spare for us so we were crated a lot.  Our dad decided we deserved better so he brought us to the ranch.  At first we didn't know what was going on but then we made friends with the Director and this place is REALLY cool!!!  We NEVER have to be in a crate and we are never alone!!  There are always plenty of humans around and lots of fur friends and we have this big fenced in field that we LOVE!!!  We like to run and play ALL day!  We don't leave each other so the Director said not to worry she would NEVER split us up and she will make sure we only go to someone with a fenced yard that will enjoy having us running around :)If you think you might be a good fit fill out an application and if we think we should meet you we will be in touch for a 'date' :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
