Story
Meet Rosie, a 6-year-old, 25-pound Cavalier/Poodle mix! After years of being a "momma" in a breeding mill, Rosie is officially handing in her resignation and applying for the role of your new best friend and is the perfect size for a lap. That is exactly where you will find her most of the time.
Rosie is a true Velcro dog who believes that personal space is just a suggestion. She does not just walk into a room; she finds the nearest person and settles in. If you are sitting on the couch, expect a soft head to land on your lap for a nap. If you are heading out for a stroll, she is right there with you, tail wagging at every dog she passes. She has never met a stranger she doesn’t like, greeting everyone from toddlers to seniors with the same gentle and trusting heart.
While she is a world-class couch potato, Rosie is also proving to be a brave little explorer. City life is brand new to her, and while the loud noises of the street are still a bit surprising, she is tackling them with grace. She has already learned that the elevator is not a scary monster (no carrying required!) and has mastered the art of pottying outside.
Rosie is currently sporting some thin patches of fur on her back. This is a lingering badge of honor from her past pregnancies, but do not let that fool you. Now that she is living the good life, her soft coat is already beginning to grow back, matching the glow of her newfound happiness.
If you are looking for a loyal, gentle companion who will bond with you instantly, Rosie is ready to meet her forever family and find her new favorite cuddle partners today! Rosie is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY and her adoption fee is $600.
Rosie is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
"To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
