Beautiful Wynter is ready to make your family complete! Wynter is a 3-year-old, 20-pound, mostly white Poodle mix with a gentle soul and so much love to give. She arrived at AFC as a stray, covered in fleas and ticks, with her hair cut very short. She came in alongside Willow, who we believe may be her daughter. Despite her rough start, Wynter is slowly learning what it means to feel safe, cared for, and loved. This shy sweetheart will need a patient, experienced owner who can help her blossom into the pampered princess she deserves to be. Once she trusts you, Wynter’s playful side shines through — especially when it’s time for walks or zoomies around the sanctuary yard! She walks nicely on leash, uses the doggie door, and is learning the routine of going outside on command. Hospice dog no adoption fee though you must qualify. Sandy was adopted from us when he was a puppy. He is now almost 12 years old is a Poodle mix and was found in his home with a couple of other dogs and a deceased owner. We don’t know what happened to the other dogs. At the SPCA he did beautifully on outings and is good with other dogs though he cried endlessly while be in a dog run by himself at the shelter which was most of the time. This kept him from being adopted during the one and a ½ months at the Sacramento SPCA. They contacted us and we took him back, he was micro-chipped to us and it is our policy to always take our dogs back. His blood work came back as healthy, he does have a heart murmur and a small growth on his eye which we will have looked at it seems to be a cherry eye which is easy to remove. Sandy is housetrained and is used to having someone with him as well as other dogs. This little guy is doing very well since we took him as we are a free roaming (not caged) during the day and people are always there. Open your heart and home to this sweet boy. Ollie is such a sweet and special boy with a quiet and lovely nature. Ollie is an 1 ½ -year-old, 14-pound wheat-colored Poodle/Chihuahua mix (his mother is a Poodle and dad is a Chihuahua). Ollie is a lovable pup who will need time to adjust to his new surroundings. He thrives best in a calmer environment, ideally with another friendly dog. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3.
