Mutt puppies and dogs in Lodi, California

We found Kona in the pound in Tracy, CA in August, 2019. She was about 9 months old, with two previous owners. She had been dodging animal control for five days in Tracy before they caught her and brought her to the pound. She didn't have any signs of abuse, although she was pretty skinny (probably from running on the street for days). She immediately laid on her back and wagged her tail when we approached her. Very shy, easily startled, very sweet. Now she's about 5, and she has gained weight and confidence, very athletic, super smart, not very food motivated (hard for training), really just wants affection and love. She's a good dog, which is why this is hard. But since then, we've had 3 kids, and while she's AMAZING with our kids, she's super defensive towards anybody else. She'll warm up to people eventually, but initial contact is always a struggle. She gets way less exercise now, which we feel bad about. Hoping she finds a home where she can run outside more!

I recently lost my wife and my lower left leg, twelve days apart in January. My four kids and I had to move into a one story rental, so I could get around easier. Unfortunately, the only rental we could find big enough for us, only allowed one small dog…due to previous issues with tenants’ dogs. So Mocha has been fostered by friends since January. However, they no longer can look after her due to travel plans. She needs to be rehome soon, 4/26, and we keep hitting wall after wall trying to find a shelter or rescue to take her in. Mocha gets along with kids and adults alike, but did not like our chihuahua. I don’t know if it is a one-dog issue, or she doesn’t like any small dogs. She played well and hard with our 120lb Swissy until he passed. Mocha gets along with our friends’ medium sized dog she lives with right now. I am out of options, and am worried we will have to put her down this weekend. My oldest wants to take her when she moves out, but that might be a bit (HS senior)

We are looking for a loving home for our dog Otis, who we adopted in 2018 as a puppy. Otis is a great dog and part of our family. Unfortunately with multiple young kids and full-time jobs, we are unable to give Otis the time and attention he deserves. Otis is loving, energetic and great with our children. It is heartbreaking for us to consider rehoming Anya. She’s a sweet, playful dog and we have loved her since she was a tiny puppy. She is trained and easy to clean. Anya loves walks, hikes, fetch and cuddles. If you have a ball thrower, she will fetch forever. She loves our two young kids and our elderly cat, who is blind and sometimes walks into her. Anya would really thrive with people who are active and can provide a substantial yard for her to play in. And she is crate-trained. After years of living together amicably, Anya and our other dog got in a serious fight while we were away and a family member was watching them. We don’t know what caused the fight, but now they simply cant be left together unsupervised in our yard or they will fight. Anya is the bigger and stronger of the two dogs, so she has avoided any serious injury, and she would be happier as an only dog.

We were a family of 3 when My husband surprised us with Peanut at 6 weeks old. After I got pregnant, caring for Peanut hasn't been easy being a first time mom so that's why we are needing to regime him. I am home alone with a newborn and my husband is on the road pretty much 24/7. Peanut just turned 1 on Nov 5th. We don't know what he is mixed with but we think yorkie & some type of terrier. Peanut loves walks, treats and stuffed toys. If you rehome Peanut, he comes with a bed, his kennel, dog food, dog food container, dog bowls, dog bowl mat, leash & harness, & his Rabies tag. Handsome Dodger needs a loving home. He is a 2-year-old, 20 pound, white and brown, Chi-weenie. He is a little shy at first and was frightened when we took pictures. He warms up fast. He is friendly with other dogs and cats. He loves attention and likes to make funny noises. He needs a family that will play with him daily. He enjoys being held in your lap and would love to cuddle on the couch during the day and snuggle in your bed at night. He would be fine as an only dog. He is a gentle boy and wonderful companion.
