Story
Lucille Good Deal—affectionately known as Lucy—is a delightful 3-year-old Poodle mix weighing about 26 pounds, and she is as full of personality as she is charm. This sweet girl recently lost her home when her beloved mom, who is in her 80s, had to move to a place where dogs are not allowed. It’s one of those bittersweet situations where life changes for our senior friends, and their loyal companions suddenly find themselves needing a new place to belong. Lucy hasn’t let that slow her down one bit. She is a bright, spirited little dog who greets life with enthusiasm and curiosity. Every day is an adventure in her eyes, and she is ready to share that joyful energy with a new family. If you’re looking for a dog with personality, heart, and just a dash of sass, Lucy might be your girl. Like many Poodle mixes, Lucy is smart and eager to be involved in whatever her people are doing. She’s been around dogs, cats, and children and shines with all of them. She’s social, friendly, and seems to think that everyone she meets is just another potential friend. Lucy is the perfect size for many homes—big enough to enjoy outdoor adventures but small enough to fit comfortably into everyday life. But make no mistake: this girl enjoys staying busy. She would thrive with a person or family who enjoys walks, outings, and including their dog in daily activities. Whether it’s hiking a trail, camping for the weekend, cheering at a kid’s soccer game, or joining family gatherings and holiday celebrations, Lucy is ready to be part of it all. And when it comes to looks, Lucy has a little extra flair. With regular grooming every few months, her soft coat stays beautiful—and those adorable little black freckles on her face give her a look that people can’t help but smile at. Lucy is currently in a loving foster home in Nashville, Tennessee, and she is ready to find her forever family. She can travel north on a certified animal transport van that heads out every weekend, bringing deserving dogs to the homes waiting for them.
