She’s a smart, independent girl who catches on quickly and takes everything in stride. Whether she’s learning something new or settling into a routine, Dutchess is always paying attention. She’s incredibly sweet with people and truly enjoys being around her humans. At the same time, she appreciates having her own space now and then — the perfect balance of affectionate and self-assured. Dutchess is quiet, thoughtful, and carries herself with a gentle grace that makes her such a special companion. The outdoors is her happy place! She absolutely lights up when it’s time for a walk and would love a home where she can explore, sniff, and enjoy fresh air regularly. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and easygoing best friend who will happily walk by your side (and then relax nearby at home), Dutchess is ready to start her next chapter with you. She's available for foster or adoption at the Animal Protective League, located at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield. We are open every day from noon to 5 p.m.

This playful boy is house-trained and mostly crate-trained, making him a great companion for someone ready to keep up with his fun-loving spirit. In playgroup, Percy does well with most dogs—he enjoys some canine company but appreciates getting to know new friends at his own pace. If you already have a dog at home, we’d be happy to set up a meet and greet to make sure everyone gets along. Percy would thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise, attention, and love. If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, and affectionate friend, Percy might just be your perfect match! 💛
