She’s a smart, independent girl who catches on quickly and takes everything in stride. Whether she’s learning something new or settling into a routine, Dutchess is always paying attention. She’s incredibly sweet with people and truly enjoys being around her humans. At the same time, she appreciates having her own space now and then — the perfect balance of affectionate and self-assured. Dutchess is quiet, thoughtful, and carries herself with a gentle grace that makes her such a special companion. Dutchess also loves to play with other dogs and does wonderfully in canine company. She’s very tolerant of different play styles and knows how to adjust her energy, whether her friend is bouncy and silly or more laid-back. Her easygoing nature makes her a great match for a variety of dog personalities. The outdoors is her happy place! She absolutely lights up when it’s time for a walk and would love a home where she can explore, sniff, and enjoy fresh air regularly. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and easygoing best friend who will happily walk by your side (and then relax nearby at home), Dutchess is ready to start her next chapter with you. She's available for foster or adoption at the Animal Protective League, located at 1001 Taintor Road in Springfield. We are open every day from noon to 5 p.m.
